The rumour mill around Xavi Simons' impending departure from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig continues to churn. A lack of Champions League football has prompted the 22-year-old to express a desire to leave, with clubs across Europe fighting to secure the highly rated attacking midfielder.

Xavi Simons Next Club Odds Suggest He Could Be Off to Chelsea

Simons has had a meteoric rise through European football. A product of Barcelona’s La Masia, he’s gone on to play for PSG, PSV Eindhoven and currently, RB Leipzig.

His move to Germany was sealed in January 2025, as the initial loan deal was made permanent with a €50 million agreement that could rise to as much as €81 million, including add-ons. This significant increase in payout for RB Leipzig is one of the reasons why they are eager to move him on.

In May, Spanish outlet Fichajes reported that Manchester United made an offer of €135 million for Xavi Simons, but the deal never came to fruition, and as it stands, he is still looking for his next club.

RB Leipzig will be looking to recoup as much of their initial outlay as possible for the Dutchman. A fee of around €70 million has been touted, which appears to be a reasonable value given his pedigree.

The latest Xavi Simons transfer odds have Chelsea as odds-on favourites, with Bayern Munich and Arsenal both expressing an interest should a deal to West London fail to materialise.

Xavi Simons Odds-On to Join Chelsea

Xavi Simons' next club odds suggest that a move to Chelsea is his most likely destination. Currently priced at 4/7 with bet365, Fabrizio Romano has already stated that both Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in the deal, which would see him earn Champions League football at both clubs.

Chelsea appear to be the most probable of the two and have already begun discussions with Xavi Simons' team, who are pushing their client to make the transition to the Premier League.

But for the deal to work, players will need to leave. Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson look set to be the pair that could make way, as Enzo Maresca opts for a profile in Simons that is more diverse and able to cover multiple positions across his front line.

Bayern Munich Keen, But Move Unlikely

The Athletic reported on July 9th that Bayern Munich had enquired about the availability of Simons to join the current Bundesliga Champions.

It’s no secret that they need attacking reinforcements on the back of the potentially season-ending injury to Jamal Musiala at the Club World Cup.

However, Simons looks set to make a fresh start outside of the Bundesliga and would likely reject a move to Bayern if they came with a concrete offer while the likes of Chelsea and even Arsenal are still at the table.

The bookies have him priced at 5/1 to join Die Roten, and it’s not a move that seems to have a ton of weight behind it. A bet that’s probably best avoided based on this.

North London Calling – But Will Simons Answer?

Simons has been on Arteta’s radar since April, when CaughtOffside reported they were keen to bring him to The Emirates.

The move would make more sense than Bayern, given his desire to leave the Bundesliga and test the waters in the Premier League.

The question is, would he rather make this move over Chelsea?

Given that he’ll likely benefit from a massive contract at Stamford Bridge, it’ll be tough for Arsenal to win this battle. Odds of 6/1 suggest that it’s an outside chance, but for us, it offers more value than Bayern at a similar price.
