Emma Raducanu produced one of her best performances in recent years as she swept aside 2023 Champion Markéta Vondroušová in only 82 minutes at Wimbledon yesterday. The British number one’s 6-3, 6-3 victory was as commanding as it was welcomed by the Centre Court crowd.
Raducanu is now seventh favourite to win the tournament in the wake of some high-profile exits. She is currently priced at 16/1 with bet365. But standing in her way is number one seed, Aryna Sabalenka, who she will face on Friday.

Despite Raducanu’s excellent performance, world number one Sabalenka will still go into their third-round match as the heavy favourite. Let’s have a look at the odds from bet365.
Aryna Sabalenka to win | 1/4 |
Emma Raducanu to win | 3/1 |
Odds correct as of 03/07/2025 at 10:00. Odds subject to change.
Raducanu Finding Form Again but Sabalenka a Tough Nut to Crack
The match against Vondrousova saw former US Open champion Raducanu demonstrate that she is getting back to her best. Her Flushing Meadows triumph came at the tender age of 18 and since then she has struggled with a number of injuries and setbacks.
The 22-year-old still has time on her side and has proved she can mix it at the sharp end of Grand Slams. She regained the British number one spot with a run to the quarterfinals at Queen's, though, as impressive as she has been on grass this season, Sabalenka represents the toughest of tests.
Sabalenka has shown great consistency this season and, the three-time Grand Slam winner has reached the finals of both the Australian Open and the French Open this year.
However, she is yet to make the final at the All England Club, reaching the semifinals in 2021 and 2023. While she is undoubtedly the favourite, Wimbledon has not been her happiest hunting ground, and the Centre Court crowd will be on the side of the Brit.
We think that Raducanu may have turned the corner and will prove to be a Grand Slam contender over the next few years. We also feel that Sabalenka will have too much for her on Friday.
Sabalenka vs Raducanu Value Bets
We have looked at the form of both players over the grass court season and we have come up with three value bets that you may want to consider. If you stick a tenner on these as a treble, then a £10 bet with bet365 would see an £85 payout. The odds are correct as of 10:00 on July 3 and are subject to change.
Set Betting: Sabalenka to win 2-1 (5/2 bet365)
While we expect Sabalenka to win, we don’t necessarily think that she’ll have it all her own way. She was taken to a tiebreak in the first set of her second-round victory over Marie Bouzkova. Bouzkova is a quality player, however, she has never been beyond the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam and is lower-ranked than Raducanu.
We can see Raducanu causing Sabalenka problems and although we think that the number one seed will prevail, we believe that it could well take three sets.
Total Tiebreaks in Match: Over 0.5 (2/1 bet365)
We have already said that Raducanu will prove to be far from a straightforward opponent for Sabalenka, who was taken to a tiebreak in her second-round match. We think that odds of 2/1 are worth looking at.
Double Fault Totals: 5+ in match (3/10 bet365)
Sabalenka has had two and three double faults respectively in her first two matches of Wimbledon 2025. Raducanu was flawless against Vondrousova but notched a couple in her first-round win over Mimi Xu. Given the pressure on both players, plus the step up in quality of opponent, we feel that there may be a few more in this one. We think 3/10 for 5+ in the match is decent value.
Is Now the Best Time to Bet on Raducanu to Win Wimbledon?
Given that we think that Sabalenka will go through against Raducanu you would think that the answer to this question is no. However, with four of the top five seeds having exited and eighth seed Iga Swiatek not being a grass court specialist, should Raducanu manage to pull off an upset then she would be considered a real contender. And this would see her odds of 16/1 slashed, especially as she has previously won a Grand Slam. So, if you have faith in the British number one pulling off a shock on Friday you might want to get in early.
