Friday horse racing tips this week come from Newbury’s afternoon meeting, and Hamilton’s Glasgow Stakes Centenary Racenight. Together, my best bet and next best selections have a 50% strike-rate, and a return on investment of 111% in July. I’m confident of more success today.

My Hamilton horse racing tips are highlighted by Prizeland, the nap of the day, who runs in the Glasgow Stakes. I also have information for the Scottish Stewards’ Cup, and the Rose Bowl Stakes down at Newbury. I’m piling into these three, make no mistake.
Racing tips for Friday have been priced up by William Hill, one of the best horse racing betting sites around.
My Friday Best Bet of the Day
Prizeland – 7:50 Hamilton
This is the Glasgow Stakes, a race over one mile, three furlongs for the three-year-olds at Listed level. Some genuinely top-class performers have won this contest before. Racing fans will need no introduction to the likes of Postponed, Defoe, or Kalpana, in fact we should be seeing the latter compete in the upcoming King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.
At a glance, I thought this wasn’t as strong a renewal as I’d hoped. The favourite, though trained by John & Thady Gosden, is rated only 87. He’s bound to be much better than that in truth, but he is vulnerable to something with class.
Enter Prizeland, the best of my Hamilton Park Friday tips. Andrew Balding’s filly ran well in the Lingfield Oaks Trial in May, and was thought good enough to contest the Group 2 Italian Oaks at San Siro. Listed level is not above her, and she gets a more than handy 5lbs from market leader Superior Choice, as well as Mr Colonel.
Why I’m Backing Prizeland
-
Proved her class at Listed level and ran in a Group 2
-
Top-class trainer brings one horse to Hamilton
-
Top northern jockey PJ McDonald heads to Hamilton only to ride this filly
Friday Racing Tips – Next Best Bet
Nabati – 4:10 Newbury
Among the best Friday horse racing bets is undoubtedly Nabati in the Rose Bowl Stakes, but his price is collapsing fast. Charlie Appleby’s colt beat nothing on debut, but he did it just as he liked, and we don’t know his ceiling.
This top yard is bang in form now after an excellent July Festival, and this son of Night Of Thunder is entered in York’s Gimcrack Stakes in August. Before that, it’s possible we’ll see him at Glorious Goodwood 2026 as the team thinks plenty of him.
Why I’m Backing Nabati
-
Impressive winner on racecourse debut
-
Well entered for later in the season, expected to be Group 1
-
Top trainer Charlie Appleby is 8 from 25 (32%) in the last fortnight
Horse Racing Tips for Friday – Value Bet
Sir Garfield – 7:15 Hamilton
Today’s horse racing tips are rounded off by a bet in the Scottish Stewards’ Cup, a competitive six-furlong handicap. Manila Scouse and Gangsta Man made the shortlist here, but preference is for Sir Garfield of the John & Sean Quinn yard.
The five-year-old has landed two wins in a row, but only just got there last time. Many will think the handicapper has caught up with him because of that, but his speed figures are improving and suggest he’s really got his mojo back. Another forward step can be expected.
Why I’m Backing Sir Garfield
-
Improving speed figures suggest another big run
-
Rider Jason Hart sits fifth in the jockeys’ championship
-
Gets in off a nice, light weight
Naps and Next Best Bets Running at 111% ROI in July
June was a wonderful month, both for the regular Saturday racing tips page, and for my horse racing previews. We finished up with a return on investment of over 42% thanks to value winners such as Almeraq (25/1), Opportunity (6/1), and Qirat (advised at 14/1).
For July, we’re in profit again. If you want to be a little more deliberate, then backing the ‘best bet’ and ‘next best’ bets only has led to five winners from 10 tips (50%) so far, and a profit of £11.10 to £1 level stakes (111% ROI).
