You can watch all the Love Island action every night, except Saturdays, at 9pm on ITV2. Love Island is famed for its unpredictability where any contestant can be eliminated at any moment. With islanders being voted out by both the public and each other, it’s anyone’s guess who will stay and who will go. With that said, we’ve compiled a list of some of the current favourites to come out on top and the best odds for betting on each of them.

What are the Best Love Island Betting Tips?

Due to the nature of the show with people constantly coming and going, odds can be shaken up at any moment and it can be difficult to predict who will come out on top. Here are some of our best tips for making more reliable bets.

Look for love at first sight

More often than not there is one couple who from the outset seem like the perfect fit. They have real chemistry and the public loves them too. Whilst it can be difficult to sift out the genuine people from the liars, especially early on when everyone is still new, this is definitely something worth looking out for as it can define your Love Island betting strategy from very early on.

Look for value betting

Yes, value betting can be applied to specials like Love Island too. You can find value in Love Island betting by trying to seek out two people who have good chemistry but haven’t been given too much screen time. This couple will have a greater chance of going far in the competition and eventually gaining the support of the public, but will be assigned relatively high odds by the bookies especially in the early stages of the show, therefore allowing you to increase your overall winnings.

Look for the troublemakers

Contestants who cause trouble between other islanders are more likely to be disliked by both the other contestants as well as the general public. With both the public and the islanders having a say in who stays and who goes, this could very well lead to an early exit from the villa for the troublesome contestants.

Look for longevity

It has become a trend that a couple who have spent more time in the villa (usually from the very beginning of the show) typically have more of a chance of going all the way and being crowned champions. Naturally this gives them more time together and gives viewers more chance to watch their relationship develop. Take this with a pinch of salt however as the most recent series in 2019 strayed away from this trend when Amber Rose Gill paired up with Greg O'Shea who had only joined the islanders two weeks earlier.

What are Popular Love Island Bets?

Here are some of the most popular Love Island bets which are offered by bookmakers.

Winning Couple

This is by far the most popular Love Island market to wager on and is the culmination of the whole show. After all the fights and flirts, which two islanders will stand the tests of time and make to the end to be crowned the overall winners?

Top Man or Woman

Given the nature of the show where things are constantly changing and couples can break at any moment, it is understandable to instead go for a ‘safer’ final bet by trying to predict which man or woman will form part of the winning couple. This type of bet might be a wise choice if you have identified one particular individual who stands out as a fan favourite but doesn’t yet seem to be with the right partner.

Create your own

Some bookies like William Hill, give you the opportunity to build your own Love Island Bets. Think the winning couple will split the prize money? Did both members of the winning couple enter the villa right at the start? Or maybe one of them joined at a later date? Why be limited by the usual markets when you can create your own perfect Love Island bet!

How is Love Island Structured?

Love Island is a show where a group of glamorous contestants are sent to live in isolation in a villa in Mallorca (Summer) or South Africa (Winter). Throughout the competition, each contestant must be coupled up with the couple that emerges victorious at the end of the show winning £50,000. As soon as the show begins, couples are paired up based on their first impressions however as the show progresses, contestants are required to ‘re-couple’ where they can choose to either remain with their partner or swap for someone else. Contestants who are left single after a re-coupling are eliminated from the show.

Contestants can also be eliminated by means of a public vote or on some occasions, by the islanders themselves. Throughout the show, contestants are tasked with competing in a series of games and challenges designed to test their mental and physical abilities. Winners of the challenges receive special prizes includes the opportunity to go on dates outside of the villa.

How do you get on Love Island?

If you are looking to be on the next series of Love Island, it always helps to have a celebrity connection in the form of a famous family member or friend to speed up the process. Alternatively, having had a high-profile past could also help you get onto the show – the viewers love a good controversy! Needless to say, however, the most important factor to getting on Love Island is having a good-looking face, a chiselled body that will have heads turning, and a huge personality that keeps people wanting more.

Love Island Lingo

  • Grafting – Working hard to get another islander to like you romantically
  • Coupling Up – Two islanders commit to be a couple. Can be as a result of romantic attraction or just by force to stay in the competition.

Fun Love Island Facts

  • The cameras are EVERYWHERE (yes, even in the bath) to make sure nothing goes unnoticed.
  • The islanders genuinely have no form of contact with the outside world. They are given phones so that they can be contacted by the production team as well as each other.
  • Contestants who do not win Love Island do actually earn money to be on the show – a measly £200-£250 per week to be exact.
  • Love Island has its own brand of condoms with around 200 provided for the islanders to use while in the villa.
  • Love Island’s Casa Amor in Mallorca has been valued at a staggering £2,551,654.
  • The islanders are never shown eating dinner because they don’t actually make it prepare it – they prepare breakfast but everything else is provided by a catering team.
