How Does Love Island Work?
Love Island is a show where a group of contestants are sent to live in isolation in a villa in Mallorca (summer) or South Africa (winter). Throughout the competition, each contestant must be coupled up, and the pair who emerges victorious at the end of the show wins £50,000.
As soon as the show begins, individuals are paired up based on their first impressions; however, as the show progresses, contestants are required to ‘re-couple’, meaning they can choose to either remain with their partner or swap for someone else.
Throughout the show, contestants are tasked with competing in a series of games and challenges, designed to test their mental and physical abilities. Winners of the challenges receive special prizes, including the opportunity to go on dates outside of the villa.
The show is famed for its unpredictability, where any contestant can be eliminated at any moment; either when left single after a re-coupling, by means of a public vote, or on some occasions, by the islanders themselves.
The popular show is now being aired in both winter and summer, and you can keep up with all the drama every night, except Saturdays, at 9pm on ITV2.
How Do You Get on Love Island?
If you are looking to be on the next series of Love Island, the most important factor to getting on Love Island is being good-looking, having a chiselled body that will have heads turning, and a huge personality that keeps people wanting more.
It also helps to have a good social media presence, a celebrity connection in the form of a famous family member or friend to speed up the process.
What Is Casa Amor?
One of the most compelling parts of the show is the introduction to new contestants. While a small contingent of contestants initially enter the villa, it's the gradual increase of new arrivals (also known as ‘bombshells') that causes plenty of drama.
Perhaps the best part of the show is ‘Casa Amor’. This throws the dynamics of the show into overdrive as the boys and girls are separated, coupled up or not. One of the groups remains in the villa, while the other travels to a new villa known as ‘Casa Amor’. A slew of new contestants are then added into the mix, changing minds and opinion of the incumbents and the watching public at home.
Casa Amor tends to last four days, but its impact can have huge ramifications over the entire show. Once the period ends, the incumbent contestants have a choice to make: either stay with their original partner or opt for their new squeeze from Casa Amor.
It certainly makes for some of the best viewing in the show, especially with the pesky producers playing devil's advocate.
Meet the Family
If you think meeting your prospective in-laws is awkward normally, then just think what the contestants will be going through come the day of the big meet, when the family have been watching all their daily antics.
This episode usually takes place towards the final days of the show, making it an emotional moment as the contestants may have not seen their family for several weeks – depending on how long they’ve been in the villa.

With islanders being voted out by both the public and each other, it’s anyone’s guess who will stay and who will go. With that said, we’ve compiled a list of some of the current favourites to come out on top and the best odds for betting on each of them.
Let's take a look at the top odds available from the leading Love Island betting sites.

Love Island Top Male Odds
Love Island Top Female Odds
Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu are the overwhelming favourites to win Love Island 2022. The two have established themselves as the best personalities in the villa and have meshed well as a couple since partnering up, although there have been their fair few up and downs along the way. As a result of their success and likeability, they’re pretty much locked in as the favourites. The best value that you can find is 1/7 with William Hill.
Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri could offer value if the public sways their opinion in the final few episodes, and 10/1 with Coral is a solid price. However, it would be a surprise to see the tide turn so dramatically.
The Love Island betting odds for 2023 will be placed here when the contestants are confirmed. You can expect markets such as the winning couple, best female and best male from the leading betting sites in the industry.
What Are the Best Love Island Betting Tips?
Due to the nature of the show with people constantly coming and going, odds can be shaken up at any moment, making it difficult to predict who will come out on top. Nevertheless, let's take a look at some of our best tips for making more reliable bets.
Look for Love at First Sight
More often than not, from the onset, there is one couple who seems like the perfect fit – their chemistry is palpable and the public loves them too. Whilst it can be difficult to sift out the genuine people from those with ulterior motives – especially early on when everyone is still new, these two are worth looking out for as they can define your Love Island betting strategy from very early on.
Look for Value Betting
You can find value in Love Island betting by trying to seek out two people who have good chemistry but haven’t been given too much screen time. This couple will have a greater chance of going far in the competition and eventually gaining the support of the public, but will be assigned relatively high odds by the bookies – especially in the early stages of the show, therefore allowing you to increase your overall winnings.
Look for the Troublemakers
Contestants who cause trouble between other islanders are more likely to be disliked – by the other contestants and the general public alike. With both the public and the islanders having a say in who stays and who goes, this could very well lead to an early exit from the villa for the troublesome contestants.
Look for Longevity
It has become a trend that a couple who have spent more time in the villa (usually from the very beginning of the show) typically have more of a chance of going all the way and being crowned the winners.
Naturally, this gives them more time together and offers viewers more of a chance to watch their relationship develop. Take this tip with a pinch of salt, however, as the 2019 edition of the show strayed away from this trend when Amber Rose Gill paired up with Greg O'Shea, who had only joined the islanders two weeks earlier.
Love Island Promotions 2024
The best Love Island betting sites offer a range of promotions for wagering on the show and their other betting markets.
William Hill is a standout operator with their Bet £10, get £30 in free bets offer, which are used in £15 increments.
Coral also have a compelling offer with a Bet £5, get £20 promotion for joining their betting site and app.
5 Reasons To Bet on Love Island
-
It’s one of the most popular shows on the telly.
-
It’s cringey, yet compelling.
-
The contestants are great fun.
-
Few other shows are as entertaining.
-
And for the romance…ahhhh!
Popular Love Island Betting Markets
People just seem to love Love Island despite (or perhaps, because of) its blend of romance, cringe and trash, making it not only the perfect formula for modern-day reality TV, but also a popular show to wager on.
Outright Winner Betting
Quite simply, this is a bet placed on who the winning couple will be.
Obviously, the earlier you are with this prediction, the better, as the odds will shorten the longer the competition goes on and the clearer the outcome is. After all the fights and flirts, which two islanders will stand the test of time and make to the end to be crowned the overall winners?

Top Man or Woman
Given the nature of the show, where things are constantly changing and couples can break at any moment, you might feel more comfortable going for a ‘safer’ final bet by trying to predict which man or woman will form part of the winning couple.
This type of bet might be a wise choice if you have identified one particular individual who stands out as a fan-favourite but doesn’t yet seem to be with the right partner.

Create Your Own!
Some bookies like William Hill offer a bet builder, giving you the opportunity to craft your own Love Island Bets. Think the winning couple will split the prize money? Did both members of the winning couple enter the villa right at the start? Why be limited by the usual markets when you can create your own perfect Love Island bet?

History of Love Island
Created and aired by ITV, Love Island is a British reality TV show based around couples dating and falling in and out of love (or lust).
It was first shown in 2005 and featured a celebrity cast. On February 13, 2015 it was brought back to life, and would later be broadcast on ITV2. This time, however, the contestants were not going to be famous people, but instead would star ordinary members of the public.
It was originally presented by Caroline Flack, but is now hosted by Laura Whitmore, whose partner – Iain Stirling – hilariously narrates the action.
