As part of our in-depth Highbet review, we wanted to show you the process of creating an account. It took us less than two minutes to complete the forms and get up and running, which is great to see.
There were no red flags, but it’s worth noting that if you’re not registered with other Gamstop sites, then you will be asked to verify your account. It won’t take long. Just upload a couple of documents (driver's license, passport, utility bill, etc.) and you’re up and running in no time.
Here’s how to create an account with Highbet:
-
Several payment options
-
Depositing fees
-
Lengthy withdrawal times for debit cards

There are several payment options available for customers. With Highbet, UK customers can make deposits via debit card (Visa and Mastercard), PayPal, bank transfer (instant banking), Trustly, MuchBetter, Skrill, Skrill 1-Tap, and paysafecard.
The minimum deposit for each of these methods is £10, but we could not access any information regarding maximum deposits. 2.5% fees are also included with Highbet deposits, which is an obvious black mark given the general absence of fees across industry leaders.
The withdrawal time with each method does vary. For example, customers can expect to receive their funds within six days with a debit card, two days with PayPal, Skrill, NETELLER, and MuchBetter, and four days when using Trustly. You should receive your funds between two to six days if you’re withdrawing via any of the available bank transfer methods.
Cryptocurrencies are not available.
Depositing Funds
Once you’re all signed up, it’s time to make your first deposit! Fortunately, the bookmaker ensures that this process is extremely easy. With bright icons and multiple deposit options, Highbet make it clear they want you to dive in and place bets – just like any bookmaker.
The depositing process is undeniably smooth; you won’t encounter anything that you haven’t seen before, but you will need to know all the requisite financial information when depositing with a debit card, for example.
Banks may require verification, and while the process was seamless, the 2.5% fee on each method and deposit is a major downside. Nobody wants to pay depositing fees, no matter how small.
Withdrawing Winnings
There’s no denying that Highbet make withdrawing (or ‘cashing out’, as they call it) tougher for punters. However, this is a common practice in the industry. For instance, while the ‘Deposit’ icon is always bright and yellow, you must hover over the ‘Cashout’ icon to bring out its blue. You might not even know it’s there if you don’t hover over it.
Nonetheless, and once this feature was properly located, the withdrawal process was quick. Highbet saves your first payment method, making it a swift process if you use the same withdrawal method as you did to deposit.
There are no fees involved, and our request was processed instantly after confirming how much we wished to withdraw.

We’ve got a brand new Highbet new customer offer for you to enjoy, worth £30 in free bets.
The promotion is super easy to claim; place your first bet of £10 at minimum odds of 1/1 on any sports market within seven days of registering, and Highbet will pop two £10 horse racing free bets and a £10 football acca free bet into your account.
Regarding T&Cs, there’s very little to note. Just make sure that you deposit using a debit card and place your bet within seven days. Bets using full or partial Cash Out will not qualify.
-
Great range of sports betting promotions
-
10% weekend cashback
-
Acca insurance on top leagues
We’ve been critical of the Highbet sportsbook promos in previous reviews, but since their recent rebrand, this is one of the sections that’s been totally revamped. You’ve got access to a good handful of offers such as acca insurance, cashback on the weekend and two goals up, early payout.
We were super impressed with the latest boosted odds, advertised daily and offering up to 30% more from the original price. And finally, for horse racing fanatics, you’ve got your own dedicated section, with up to 3 x £5 free bets every week, non-runner money back and payouts on first past the post. Congrats, Highbet. You listened, and you’ve smashed this.
VIP/Loyalty Programme
Highbet currently doesn’t offer a VIP or Loyalty programme of any kind for its customers.
-
35 sports make up the sportsbook
-
Great odds and football coverage
-
Simple betting process
-
Cash-Out and Bet Builder available
35 sports make up Highbet’s sportsbook, and punters can bet on leagues, events, and competitions from across the globe.
The bookie’s football coverage is undoubtedly emphasised, with almost 1,500 events available to bet on at the time of writing. Popular football events command around 200 pre-match markets, with statistics, head-to-head records and league tables also accessible. Highbet’s football coverage is sufficient, but many would be deterred if their odds lacked value.
To measure the quality of Highbet’s margins, we used the odds overround. This is a calculation that combines the total percentage probability of all selections in a match coming true. Naturally, the result of this should come to 100%; however, this does not factor in the profits made by the bookmaker. For this reason, it is widely accepted that any figure below 110% is considered to indicate fair odds.
We picked three games at random from the Premier League, EFL Championship, and Serie A that returned margins of 106.25%, 106.42%, and 106.44%, respectively. Thus, Highbet’s margins are remarkably consistent and fair.
Punters can display their odds as fractions, decimals, or American. The minimum stake is 8p, while the maximum stake is bet dependent.
Horse Racing
Horse racing is listed just below football on the menu, on the left-hand side of the homepage. However, racing punters wouldn’t be too thrilled with Highbet’s coverage.
At the time of writing, there were only 30 events to bet on, though races beyond the UK and Ireland, including Italian races, were also available. The markets were limited and lacked depth, allowing only basic bets on the race winner, forecasts, and tricasts. Overall, their offerings paled in comparison to competitors.
On the bright side, livestreaming is provided by SISRacing TV. You must be logged in to view these streams, but do not need a funded account.
Esports
We may have been disappointed with Highbet’s horse racing offering, but their esports coverage is broad and shown great signs of improvement over the past couple of years. A multitude of games are offered, including Counter-Strike, Dota 2, betting on League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Kings of Glory, and Warcraft.
While you’ve always been able to bet on esports events and competitions from all over the globe, Highbet’s market coverage of esports events was once sub-par. This is no longer the case. For example, if you want to bet on a League of Legends contest at the 2024 Worlds, you have 80 markets at your disposal ranging from correct score to handicaps.
Be sure to check out our esports betting tips if you want to improve your chances of winning at esports betting.
Other Specials
Politics currently dominate Highbet’s specials coverage, although those who like to punt on the entertainment world can do so with markets for the ongoing Strictly Come Dancing series, provided alongside early odds for next year’s Oscars.
The upcoming US election is covered in impressive detail by the bookmaker. 38 of the 41 specials markets offered by the bookie revolve around American politics and the election specifically. As well as being able to bet on the winner, you can also place bets on individual states. The majority of these, mind, boast minute odds. Only a couple are worth betting on.
Cash Out & Bet Builder
You can take full control of your bets with Highbet’s Cash-Out or Partial Cash-Out features. You can also access a Bet Builder feature, which we've already discussed, to spice up your bets.
-
Livestreaming service for horse racing
-
Basic in-play coverage
-
Variety of sports covered live
Highbet’s live coverage is easily accessible via the in-play tab shown in yellow in the above image – down the left-hand side of the homepage.
There were over 100 in-play football events offered at the time of writing, but we found their live coverage to be sub-par. While the game we assessed was a lowkey fixture, Highbet merely supplied basic in-play coverage. Markets were limited to goals, half, and corners/cards, with the features offered paling in comparison to industry competitors.
Statistics and a match tracker were provided, but that was it. There wasn’t much else, and this is the same for all sports. We checked their tennis coverage, too, and found similar issues.
Moreover, there’s no livestreaming service for any sport apart from horse racing.

Licensed and regulated by UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority
-
Strong responsible gambling emphasis
-
Several available account restrictions
Highbet is operated by Aspire Global International Ltd, who, in turn, are licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority. For their UK operations, games are provided by AG Communications, licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission.
The bookmaker’s emphasis on responsible gambling is distinct, with a dedicated page at the bottom of the homepage. This page provides information on the protection of minors and how to prevent and manage compulsive gambling. External links for multiple websites are also provided at the bottom of the homepage, while a list of organisations that can help with your gambling are listed in the bookmaker’s responsible gambling section.
To prevent potential addiction, Highbet has several account restrictions for customers to set when they feel it’s necessary. These restrictions include deposit limits, a reality check, time-outs, session time limits, autoplay limits, and self-cxclusion.
Highbet’s privacy policy is also available to view via a link accessible at the bottom of the homepage.

FAQs hidden but rigorous
-
Quick and efficient customer service
-
Customer support is available 24/7
It initially appeared that Highbet didn’t offer an FAQs section of any kind, so we contacted customer support right away. To do so, we accessed the small chat icon located in the bottom-right corner of the page. The below image will appear, which shows that you can contact the bookmaker via live chat or email. Highbet say their customer service team is available 24/7, and we couldn’t find any reason to dispute that claim.
We opted to test Highbet’s Live Chat function, which then revealed the bookmaker’s previously unseen FAQ’s section. Common queries are divided into ten sections, with categories including Privacy, Bonuses, Deposits, and Withdrawals.
Nevertheless, we still went ahead with contacting Highbet via live chat, and found the service to be swift and efficient, with the use of an automated response working well in this instance. For back-up, a member of the support team does join the chat, but they weren’t required here with the bot doing the job for them.
-
Modern aesthetic
-
Messy structure in places
-
Teething technical issues
We appreciated the slick and modern aesthetic of Highbet’s website, with a blue, white, and yellow colour scheme followed throughout. However, that’s as good as it gets in this regard.
There were a few technical faults with the site, including lag and a delayed response time. Moreover, we must question the display of the prominent markets relating to football odds – it’s very messy, with the bookie trying to fit several markets into a couple of rows. In order to get a clearer and more structured viewing, we had to filter what odds and markets we wanted to be displayed.
Events, markets, and odds dominate the centre of the page, while a list of Highbet’s different products is located on the left-hand side, including any boosted odds. Just inside of that is the sub-category menu, e.g. sportsbook, with your bet slip ubiquitous on the right-hand side. This aids and speeds up the betting process.
Highbet now boasts a blog, which we found to be one of the most impressive aspects of the bookie. It’s updated regularly, with posts on an array of subjects created by casino and betting experts. Sports lovers can access sports betting guides on major events, and football posts are the most popular. Posts focusing on other sports appear less frequently, but there is at least some variation.
-
Currently no mobile app
-
Mobile browser version accessible
Highbet currently has no mobile app available to download on the App Store or Google Play, but you can, of course, access the bookmaker via any mobile browser.
There’s no content reduction on the mobile version, as Highbet did a good job of condensing their site onto a smaller page without compromising its structural integrity. We found that the mobile version worked better technically compared to the desktop website, although the technical performance was far from clean and there was still some lag time when accessing various parts of the site.
Highbet is primarily a casino that offers a sportsbook, so you’d expect its casino product to be of the highest quality.
The bookie certainly boasts quantity – there are over 1,000 casino games to choose from – and their live casino offering is impressive. Punters can play a multitude of live games, including roulette, blackjack, and baccarat.
Highbet currently do not have any casino offers available to users, but if this changes we will be sure to let you know here. There are often several casino promotions to take advantage of. Offers include daily prize drops, bet multipliers, instant bonuses, free spins, and daily tournaments. Highbet have taken a giant leap forward on the casino promos front, but it would be great if they did the same with their sportsbook.
This Highbet review revealed that this new bookmaker has undoubtedly taken a few strides in recent years, steadily building its reputation. However, there are a few critical drawbacks that need to be addressed.
While we appreciate that Highbet focuses more on their casino product, the lack of existing sports promotions remains a fatal oversight. There’s little to attract sports bettors to this bookmaker, in truth. Moreover, this can be a frustrating website to operate and use. Its technical performance is simply not up to standard, and many will be deterred by lag times when accessing different components of the bookie.
