There was a contrast in mood on Saturday's Scoop6 as Closing Ceremony's win saw three punters win a huge £643,903.40 with one of the winners being a Betfred customer who just staked £2. However, it ended up being agony for some.

Triumphant Trip Finally Land Huge £2million Scoop6

With 52 tickets making it to the finale, the £2 million win fund was bound to be claimed though the late drama saw some unfortunate punters lose out.

13 of the 52 tickets backed Silva Eclipse who looked to be the winner before being pipped at the end by Closing Ceremony's nose, much to the dismay of the 13.

With more than £1 million lying in the bonus fund, the Scoop6 winners will have a chance to add to their fortunes next week.

Matt Hulmes, the Totepool spokesman, stated (via Racing Post): “Congratulations to the three Scoop6 winners this afternoon. It was a dramatic final leg as the judge took a while to separate Closing Ceremony and Silva Eclipse in the Haydock dusk, but it was to the delight of a triumphant trio, and the dismay of an unlucky thirteen.

“The three winners will now set their sights on adding the £1,030,922 bonus fund to their winning haul by finding the winner of a nominated race next Saturday.”
