Introduction

Mr Mega has emerged as one of the leading online casinos in the UK following its establishment in 2010. However, the bookmaker also boasts a sportsbook for customers to take advantage of. While Mr Mega’s casino product remains the primary focus, the sportsbook is beginning to gain greater prominence. In this in-depth review, we’ll assess how Mr Mega’s sports coverage stacks up against its competitors. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!

Registration Process 4/5

  • Two-step process
  • Basic information required
  • Simple verification process

Creating an account with Mr Mega is a simple two-step process in which new customers merely need to give out basic information. To begin, note your email address before creating your Mr Mega username and password.

Screenshot

Click the ‘NEXT’ icon to advance. In step two, you’re required to give your name, gender, date of birth, address, mobile phone number and preferred currency.

Screenshot

This is where you can apply any bonus codes you might’ve been able to get a hold of. Then, once that’s all done, decide whether you want to be notified about any ‘bonus offers’ before ticking the terms and conditions.

A click of the ‘OPEN ACCOUNT’ icon will kickstart your Mr Mega journey. However, before you can start depositing, you’re required to verify your account via email.

Deposits & Withdrawal Options 3/5

  • Several payment options
  • Depositing fees
  • Lengthy withdrawal times for debit cards
  • Easy depositing and withdrawing processes

There are several payment options available for customers. With Mr Mega, you can make deposits via:

  • Debit card (VISA and Mastercard)
  • PayPal
  • Trustly
  • MuchBetter
  • paysafecard

The minimum deposit for each of these methods is £10, while information regarding maximum deposits wasn’t accessible. 2.5% fees are also included with PayPal and debit card deposits.

The withdrawal time with each method does vary. For example, customers can expect to receive their funds within six days with debit card, two days with PayPal and MuchBetter, and four days with Trustly.

Depositing Funds

To fund your Mr Mega account, start by clicking the ‘DEPOSIT’ icon located in the top-right corner of the homepage. A drop-down list of the bookmaker’s payment options then manifests. We opted to deposit via debit card.

Screenshot

You have to provide all the basic card information, including the name on the card, card number, expiry date and security code.

Screenshot

We decided to deposit the minimum required (£10) into our account and as you can see, the 2.5% fee means we were charged 25p to make this deposit. Once you’re happy and ready to advance, click the green ‘DEPOSIT’ icon to fund your account.

Screenshot

Here’s confirmation of our maiden Mr Mega deposit. Overall, the process was markedly simple, but the fees involved are a deterrent.

Withdrawing Winnings

Withdrawing your funds from Mr Mega is similarly easy. After a successful bet, we had £12.70 in our account which we wished to withdraw. To do so, first, we accessed the account icon located next to our total balance in the top-right hand corner of the homepage.

Screenshot

That brought up the above screen, ‘ACCOUNT DETAILS’. From there, we clicked the grey ‘CASHOUT’ button below ‘DEPOSIT‘.

Screenshot

Then, it was time to withdraw. All we had to do was confirm our payment method and select how much we wanted to withdraw. Unfortunately, Mr Mega didn’t allow us to withdraw £12.70 and, instead, the maximum we could withdraw was £12. So, that’s what we did by confirming this amount before clicking the green ‘REQUEST CHECKOUT’ icon. Our withdrawal request was seen below.

Screenshot

Our withdrawal request was seen above. As we used a debit card to deposit/withdraw, we should expect our funds to arrive within six days.

Welcome Offer 2.5/5

  • Bet £15 Get £10
  • Little value

Mr Mega’s welcome offer gifts new customers a £10Free Bet Token’ after they place their first £15 bet with the bookmaker.

Punters have the luxury to use their token on the entirety of Mr Mega’s sportsbook. However, to qualify for this promotion, qualifying bets must be placed at odds 1/1 or greater while the free bets must be used on markets with odds 4/5 or greater. Customers have 14 days to use the Free Bet Token after it arrives in their account.

Deposits via PayPal and paysafecard are ineligible for this promotion.

Overall, this welcome offer isn’t great. New customers have to bet a minimum of £15 to get a £10 bonus. There’s little value and there are plenty of better offers out there.

Key Terms

18+ New Customers only. 1x person per household. Max Free Bet amount is £10. Minimum £10 deposit required, and minimum wager of £10 with odds of Evens (2.00)+ to activate the £15 Free Bet Token. Free Bet Token will expire 14 days after credited to your account. Void/canceled or Cashed Out bets do not count towards wagering. PayPal, Neteller, Paysafe, Skrill or Skrill 1-Tap will not eligible for this offer. Bonus Policy and Terms of Service apply. Please gamble responsibly. Full T&Cs apply. BeGambleAware.org #ad

Sportsbook Promotions 2/5

  • Bereft of any exciting or innovative promotions
  • ACCA boost
  • No VIP programme

Mr Mega’s sportsbook promotions are limited. There’s just one offer available for customers and it’s a promo regularly seen across bookmakers.

It’s an accumulator boost with customers receiving boosted odds for 4+-fold accas. For example, 4-folds garner a 4% boost, 5-folds 7% and 6-folds 10%. This boost increases up to 77%, which is the boost for a 15-fold accumulator.

Overall, the bookie’s shortage of promotions is disappointing.

VIP/Loyalty Programme

Mr Mega currently doesn’t boast a VIP or Loyalty programme of any kind for its customers.

Pre-Match Offer 4/5

  • 24 sports make up the sportsbook
  • Great odds and football coverage
  • Simple betting process
  • No Bet Buider feature

Screenshot

24 sports make up Mr Mega’s sportsbook and there’s an abundance of events and markets within each covered sport. For example, there were over 1,000 football events offered at the time of writing and over 350 markets on the day’s most popular match.

While their football coverage is impressive, the bookie’s odds are the most crucial element here, and to measure the quality of Mr Mega’s margins we used the odds overround.

The overround is a calculation that combines the total percentage probability of all selections in a match coming true. Naturally, the result of this should come to 100% –however, this does not factor in the profits made by the bookmaker. For this reason, it is widely accepted that any figure below 110% is considered to indicate fair odds.

We picked three games at random from the Premier League, EFL Championship and Coppa Italia that returned margins of 104.46%, 104.84% and 104.81% respectively. Thus, Mr Mega’s margins are both consistent and very competitive

Punters can display their odds as fractions, decimals or American. The minimum stake is 9p and the maximum stake is bet dependent.

Placing a Bet

After scanning Mr Mega’s football coverage, we found a game to bet on. We decided to back Fulham to beat Birmingham City at home in the EFL Championship. Thus, we backed the Cottagers to win at 27/100 and after clicking these odds on the drop-down list, the bet went into our bet slip found on the right-hand side of the page.

Screenshot

Here’s our bet slip before we placed our bet. We decided to put £10 on Fulham to win and after we confirmed our stake, all we had to do was click ‘PLACE BETS!’.

Screenshot

After placing our bet, the above icon appears at the bottom of the page.

Screenshot

However, it took just seconds for our bet to be authorised and the above image shows our bet slip after we received confirmation from the bookmaker.

Esports

Mr Mega’s esports coverage is one of the broadest we’ve seen. All the popular games and events are covered and some, with a myriad of global esports tournaments available to bet on. Esports fans can bet on FIFA, NBA, NHL, Counter-Strike, Dota 2, League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Rocket League and Rainbox 6 events with this bookmaker.

However, Mr Mega’s vast esports offering was difficult to find. We had to search for it using the search bar as it wasn’t a part of the drop-down list on the left-hand side of the homepage. Considering how broad their coverage is, they must do a better job of advertising it.

Be sure to check out our esports betting tips if you want to improve your chances of winning at esports betting.

Other Specials

On the entertainment front, punters can bet on a variety of markets for the 2022 Oscars. These include Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Director.

Their political coverage is limited to ‘Next US President’, while you can already place bets on the 2022 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Cash Out & Bet Builder

You can take full control of your bets with BetUK’s Cash Out and Partial Cash Out features. The bookmaker, however, does not have a Bet Builder feature.

Live Offer 3/5

  • Easily accessible
  • Basic live coverage
  • No live streaming service

Screenshot

Mr Mega’s live coverage is easily accessible via the in-play tab located on the left-hand side of the homepage. However, we found that their offering was pretty basic.

While there were over 100 markets for the most popular live football event, the bookmaker doesn’t go the extra mile to provide stellar in-play coverage. Nevertheless, punters have access to a match tracker, basic statistics, head-to-head records, and league tables.

Such features are expected, though, and there is no live streaming service to enjoy.

Security 3.5/5

  • Licensed and regulated by UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority
  • Strong Responsible Gambling emphasis
  • Several available account restrictions

Mr Mega is operated by Aspire Global International Ltd, who, in turn, are licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and Malta Gaming Authority. They also hold an Irish betting license.

The bookmaker’s emphasis on Responsible Gambling is strong. Their dedicated page can be found via a link at the bottom of the homepage. Once accessed, punters will find information on protecting minors, how to prevent compulsive gambling and how to seek further help. A self-assessment test is also provided so you can gauge how problematic your gambling currently is.

Screenshot

In a bid to mitigate against addiction, Mr Mega allows customers to set several account restrictions. These include Deposit Limits, Time-Out, Self-Exclusion and Reality Check.

A comprehensive Privacy Policy is available to view, while the bookie uses 128-bit Secure Socket Layer encryption to ensure that their customers’ data is protected.

Service & Customer Support 4/5

  • Robust FAQs section
  • Customer support not available 24/7
  • Efficient Live Chat function

A ‘Contact Us’ link is found at the bottom of the homepage where customers can communicate with Mr Mega’s support staff. However, make sure you check out their superb FAQ’s section before contacting them. There are ten query categories, including Deposits and Withdrawals, Bonuses and Privacy, with several common questions found within each.

Thus, it’s likely that your query will be resolved by simply looking at the FAQs.

However, if it isn’t and you have to contact customer support, there are two avenues of communication: Live Chat and email. The bookie states that their support team is on hand to assist seven days a week between 08:00 and 00:00 (CET), or 07:00 and 23:00 (GMT).

We opted to put the bookie’s Live Chat function to the test. After clicking ‘Live Chat’, as shown by the above image, we were almost immediately matched with an agent.

We asked whether Mr Mega currently had a VIP/Loyalty programme of any kind for its customers. Quickly, the agent responded succinctly saying they didn’t.

After, they asked whether there was anything else they could help us with before wishing us a nice evening. Overall, our experience using Mr Mega’s Live Chat function was pleasant and efficient. Our query was resolved in no time.

Design & Usability 2.5/5

  • Dull design
  • Lack of advertisements
  • Slightly messy structure

Screenshot

Boasting a predominantly mundane white and grey colour scheme throughout, Mr Mega’s website fails to stand out from a design perspective. The site lacks any colour or exuberance. While the bookmaker is bereft of promotions, there’s a distinct absence of any advertisement sliders that could give the site some life.

From a structural perspective, the centre of the homepage is consumed by the events and markets. There’s a slider across the top that allows punters to select in-play, upcoming or top events. Down the left-hand side, quick links and the entirety of the bookmaker’s sportsbook can be accessed.

At the bottom of the homepage, all help and information links can be found, while the ubiquitous presence of your bet slip on the right-hand side aids the betting process.

Underneath your bet slip, you’ll find Mr Mega’s sole piece of advertising.

Overall, the structure is slightly incoherent with the website’s design markedly dull. There are no statistics accessible, nor is a blog provided.

Mobile

  • Currently no mobile app

Mr Mega currently has no mobile app available to download on the App Store or Google Play.

Other Products

Screenshot

Considering that Mr Mega is primarily a casino product, it’s no surprise that the bookmaker excels in this regard. Unlike sports punters, new casino customers are welcomed by a generous offer that gifts them a 100% bonus on their first deposit (up to £50).

There are almost 300 different casino games to enjoy, including slots, jackpots and table games. A plentiful supply of Live Casino events are always available as well, with the bookie suggesting such events are supplied by the industry’s top provider. Punters can play blackjack, roulette, poker and many more live games.

ThePuntersPage Final Say 3.1/5

Mr Mega’s emphasis and focus upon its superb casino product is distinct because their sports offering leaves plenty to be desired.

There are aspects to like, including in-depth football coverage, great odds and efficient customer support, and a few simple additions would go a long way in creating a more intriguing and enticing sports product. For example, Mr Mega must add more innovative promotions and they could perhaps boast a more generous welcome offer.

Overall, our experience using Mr Mega was fine, but their current sports offering isn’t conducive to retaining the long-term interests of new customers.
