Second placed Napoli host Torino this weekend, as they look to stay in touch with league leaders, Juventus.

Napoli are 11 points behind the Old Lady and, realistically, are more likely to be caught by Inter in third than to trouble Juve.

As for Torino, they are now four points off the group challenging for the European places and can ill-afford to slip-up if they have any ambitions of making the Europa League.

The Partenopei are yet to lose at home this season in Serie A and given Torino have won just twice away from home all campaign, it is difficult to see anything but a home win here.

Napoli have enjoyed plenty of success against this weekend’s opposition, winning six of the last seven meetings and scoring 22 goals in those games. They have scored at least two goals in those seven matches and at least three in four of them.

Napoli have won 10 of their 12 home games this season in the league and with the H2H record so much in favour of the hosts, you definitely want to get Napoli on side.

Team News

Mario Rui and Raul Albiol are still unavailable through injury, whilst Simone Verdi is a doubt. Marek Hamsik has completed his move away from the club and Lorenzo Insigne is now the club captain.

Simone Zaza and Nicolas Nkoulou are back from suspension, which now means Walter Mazzarri has a full squad to pick from.

Potential Napoli Starting XI: Meret; Malcuit, Maksimovic, Koulibaly, Ghoulam; Callejon, Diawara, Fabian Ruiz, Zielinksi; Insigne, Mertens

Potential Torino Starting XI: Sirigu; Izzo, N’Koulou, Moretti; Aina, Lukic, Rincon, Baselli, Ansaldi; Berenguer, Belotti

Head To Head

  • There have been 27 games played between these two sides, with Napoli winning 12 and Torino winning just five. There have been 10 draws between them but Napoli have won six of the last seven matches.

  • Napoli have been winning at half-time and full-time in five of their last seven home matches in the league.
  • Napoli have scored at least two goals in eight of their 12 home games this season, including all of their last three home games.
  • Torino have won just twice away from home this season.

Betting Odds

  • Napoli – 4/9
  • Draw – 12/5
  • Torino – 15/2

The Verdict

Looking at Napoli’s home form and the form of Torino on their travels in the league this season, it is no shock to see Napoli at as small as 4/9 with the bookies. There is very little to suggest Torino are going to get a shock here, so it is about trying to get Napoli on side in the goals market.

Napoli have managed 13 goals in their last five home games and are averaging 2.3 goals a game at the Stadio San Paolo this season in the league. They have scored 22 goals in the games they have played against Torino in the last seven meetings and won six of those games, so we are expecting goals for the hosts.

Napoli have scored at least three goals in three of their last five home games in the league and Napoli and over 2.5 goals has landed in four of their last five home games in the league. It has also landed in six of the last seven against Torino so at 6/5, that is our play here.
