Preston will be looking to win their third game on the trot as they face promotion challengers Derby County at Deepdale.
The Lilywhites ran out 2-0 winners away at Stoke City last time out courtesy of goals from Alan Browne and Brad Potts.
However, at Deepdale Preston have been less than impressive only managing five wins from their 14 home league games this season.
Preston have struggled to get a run going this season and this reflects their last six games where they've won two, drawn two and lost two, struggling to establish any sort of winning run. Though the visit of Derby is the perfect opportunity for Alex Neil's side to make it three wins in a row.
Visitors Derby were fortunate to run out 1-0 winners away at Accrington in the FA Cup last time out, but the Rams will be keen to get three points to apply pressure to their fellow promotion candidates.
Derby currently sit in sixth spot but a win could see them rise to fifth and five points behind second-placed Norwich City – who face league leaders Leeds United on Saturday.
Frank Lampard's side have endured an indifferent time on the road this season, winning six, losing six and drawing two of their away games in the Championship.
Both sides didn't make any Deadline Day additions meaning there shouldn't be any real surprises for either team.
Preston will have captain Tom Clarke back after he was out with a calf problem. Louis Moult, Callum Robinson, Billy Bodin and Josh Harrop will all be sidelined with injuries and not fit for the televised fixture.
The Lilywhites are expected to name roughly the same starting eleven to the one which shocked Stoke last week.
Derby will have to make do without Jayde Bogle after he received a red card against Accrington last week. The Rams may also see Andre Wisdom return as well as: Tom Lawrence, Ashley Cole and Craig Bryson.
Kelle Roos may keep his place in the starting eleven despite Scott Carson's return from injury.
Potential Preston Starting XI: Rudd, Hughes, Clarke, Davies, Fisher, Pearson, Gallagher, Maguire, Browne, Potts, Stockley
Potential Derby Starting XI: Roos, Malone, Tomori, Keogh, Wisdom, Bird, Evans, Wilson, Lawrence, Marriott, Waghorn
Head To Head
- Preston 49, Draws 22, Derby 45
- Derby unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Preston.
- Preston not beaten Derby since Boxing Day 2008 where they won 2-0 at Deepdale.
Key Stats & Facts
- Derby have won in four of their last five visits to Deepdale.
- Preston's recent Derby hoodoo carried on earlier this season as Derby ran out 2-0 winners in the reverse fixture.
- Preston only won three of their last 21 encounters against the Rams.
- Preston 7/5
- Draw 5/2
- Derby 11/5
Despite Preston's recent good form, I can see them having their work cut out against a strong Derby County side. The Rams have looked impressive for the majority of the season and they have been able to showcase their talents on television recently, most notably winning against Premier League Southampton in the FA Cup via penalties.
Jack Marriott is enduring a good season so far, notching ten goals, and he will be keen to add to his tally in front of the Sky cameras on Friday night.
Harry Wilson has also proved how much of a threat he can be this season and he could add to his impressive tally of 12 goals so far this season with the Liverpool loanee tearing opposition defences to shreds.
However, Preston are one of the top goalscorers at home in the division and they will be desperate to get a winning run going as they look to build momentum in the last few months of the season.
