Tips & Predictions for Travelers Championship 2026
Signature events after majors always feel like a little after the Lord Mayor’s show. That’s no disrespect to the Travelers, but the PGA Tour need to get its scheduling in order, given how much time they have at their disposal.
Anyway, that rant is for another day. For now, we’ve got all the latest Travelers Champions betting picks ahead of what looks like an interesting market.
Xander Schauffele to Win
It’s been an OK season so far from Xander Schauffele. He’s been there or thereabouts but has yet to get over the line. His last win came at the Baycurrent Classic in October 2025, then he didn’t tee it up again until the Farmers Insurance Open in February 2026 due to injury.
But he played well at the US Open last week and has won at TPC River Highlands in 2022. Schauffele’s had multiple top 20’s in this event since, and he’s just generally a solid pick.
You can get him at 16/1, which is a pretty good price given the field this week. If you want a bit of cover, taking him as an each-way bet still has value here, but our play will be on the nose to win outright.
Alex Fitzpatrick Each Way
We’ve tipped Alex Fitzpatrick a couple of times over the last couple of months in our golf betting previews, and he hasn’t let us down. He’s playing some incredible golf right now, and to tee up last week in his first US Open for a T23 finish was mightily impressive.
This place should suit his game. Tee to green, his numbers are elite, but he won't hate us for saying that his short game still needs a bit of work.
Odds of 55/1 this week seem awfully inviting. At this price, he’s an each-way pick for sure, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him right in the mix come Sunday.

It’s a star-studded lineup at the 2026 Travelers Championship, with the only notable omission being that of Rory McIlroy. Here’s a look at some of the key players to watch this week, with some outside value for each.
Scottie Scheffeler
Scottie Scheffler will no doubt be in the mix again. He’s as short as 7/2 in places, which is wild in a field as large and as good as this. His game in 2026 hasn’t quite lived up to the heights of 2025, with just one win so far. But it wouldn’t surprise us to see him go and stick a market down for the rest of the season. The odds are the only reason why we’d swerve, as there’s no fun in those sorts of prices.
Tommy Fleetwood
We were close to backing Tommy Fleetwood in our main Travelers Championship betting tips, but instead opted for Schauffele. There’s no doubt that the Stockport man is in fine form, and with another strong finish at the US Open, he’s cementing his place inside the world’s top 10. Let’s not forget, Fleetwood was runner-up last year and 15th in 2024, so he’s got form here. Odds of 16/1 look about right, but we’d like a point or two more to get those juices flowing.
Justin Rose
Justin Rose is ageing like a fine wine. He turns 46 next week, but is playing some of the best golf of his career. It will be exciting to see him head back to Birkdale in a couple of weeks for The Open Championship at the scene that kick-started his career as a 17-year-old amateur. He’s had a couple of top 10’s here over the years, but again, like Fleetwood, was exceptional last week, and he’s one of those players that generally finds a groove and rides that wave. At 50/1, he’s a great each-way bet.

It feels like the range of betting markets for the Travelers grows each year. It’s a testament to how big golf betting is these days, and much of that has come from the expansion of the PGA Tour. This week, you’ll be treated to dozens, if not hundreds, of markets, but some are better than others. Here’s a handful of ones to look out for.
The player who wins the tournament overall. This includes a playoff for betting purposes.
The player leading after the first round (18 holes).
Pick a player to finish in the top 5/10/20 positions at the end. This includes ties, but dead heat rules will apply.
The cut is made after 36 holes. Your bet wins or loses based on whether you backed that player to play the following 36 holes or not.
These are head-to-head bets, where the bookies create mythical matchups between two or three players. Your goal is to pick the player with the lowest score from that group at the end of the tournament.

Course Analysis
TPC River Highlands is one of the shortest courses on the PGA Tour, measuring just 6,844 yards. It’s a par 70 with 68 strategically placed bunkers.
The test for the week won’t be distance; it will be wedge play and how well the players can dial in their distance control. You don’t need to bomb around here, and this is probably why we don’t always see the long guys at the top of the pile. Plodders such as Keegan Bradley, Scottie Scheffler, Harris English and Chez Reavie have all had recent success.
What the course lacks in distance, it makes up for in strategy. Players need to plot their way around off the tee, and if they miss the fairway, they’ll be punished.
So, from a betting perspective, it’s one of the few weeks where driving distance isn’t a big factor here, and instead, accuracy off the tee and approach play metrics play a huge role.
It’s a birdie fest, for the most part, so those who can dial in those wedges and get the putter rolling on these poa annua greens will do well.
