1. bet365 – Best Livestreaming Option
Bet365 is one of the best darts betting sites in the UK. Featuring in-depth markets and a brilliant live option, bet365 ties it all up with livestreaming on a huge number of matches. When there isn’t a livestream available, you can still catch up on the action with live updates and stats.
A particular highlight from bet365 is their darts betting odds, as they’re able to consistently provide some of the most competitive prices compared to any bookie. Their average payout is around 93%, rising to 95% for match markets. bet365 also has bet boosts that make their odds deal even sweeter.
- Livestreaming on most events
- Excellent odds and bet boosts
- Brilliant live betting selection
- Not many promotions on darts
2. Parimatch – Odds Boosts & Specials

Darts spreads can include anything from performances to checkouts or 180s. You can choose to bet for or against a given range, and winnings will vary depending on how right you are. This could give you much bigger payouts, but could also give you greater losses, so make sure you understand the market first.

- Good stats page
- No livestreaming available
Introducing Darts Betting
It’s a simple game – players throw three darts at a time to lower their scores from 501 to exactly 0. It’s easy to play, fun to watch and found in most pubs – darts has always been popular. In the 1990s, the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) took darts from a pub game to a professional sport and never looked back.
Thanks to the high level of competitors, pub-style venues, iconic atmospheres and brilliant marketing by bookies, darts betting has flourished. While most bookies will offer a wide range of markets, from pre-match to in-play, only selected ones will feature livestreaming. These markets allow you to wager on wins, 180s, big fish, highest finishes or handicaps, and can be picked per leg, set or match.
Since darts is such a quick sport, in-play betting is probably its most exciting part. When matches are live, you can wager on legs, 180s, checkouts or round winners.
How Does Scoring Work in Darts?
Firstly, the dartboard is divided into 20 segments, each representing a score from 1 to 20. There are two red and green rings – an outer ring that gives you double points, and an inner ring that is worth triple. The centre of the board features a green ring worth 25 points called the semi, and the bullseye is worth 50 points.
Players start with a score of 501, and the objective is to get that score down to 0 in as few throws as possible. To win a leg, players must hit a double and end with a 0 score (for example: if your score is 20, you must hit a double 10 to finish). The highest score in one turn (3 dart throws) is 180 – 3 triple 20s.
The fewest darts you need to win a leg is 9 – the pinnacle of the sport -, a nine-darter. Commonly, this is done by throwing 7 triple 20s, a triple 19 and a double 12. There have only been 96 televised 9-darters since 1984.
Another rare feat is the highest checkout – the Big Fish -, worth 170 points. We’d need 2 double 20s and a bullseye to win a leg.
Most Popular Darts Betting Markets
There are many ways to bet on darts – some tournament-based, and others centred on the finer details of a darts match. Below, we have highlighted a few classic PDC darts betting markets that can often be worth a punt on which can be found on all the best online bookies.
Outright tournament bets are the ones in which the bettor predicts who will win any given tournament. It’s a great darts bet thanks to how close the competition has become.
Bet on which player you think will win a particular match of darts. It’s that simple. And with many matches happening on the same day in a tournament, you can make some brilliant accumulator bets.
As we now know, darts matches are broken down into legs, which win sets. Bettors can wager on who will win the next set, how many sets in total, above/under a certain number of sets and so on.
An almost exclusively in-play market, betting on the winner of the next leg is perfect for a quick bet. It’s a bet on who’ll be quicker to get from 501 to 0.
The famous nine-darter is the highest possible checkout from 501, the starting figure of darts. Think of it as the equivalent of a 147 break in snooker. It’s a yes or no bet, on whether it will happen in a match. It’s rare, so the darts betting odds are massive for this feat.
This is an easy bet where you are backing a player to score the most 180’s (the highest possible score in one turn) in a nominated game, leg or set.
Handicap betting in darts, and indeed all sports, works by applying additional points, either plus or minor, to players. This is done to level the playing field between two competitors. The bigger the skill difference between players, the bigger the handicap applied by the bookmakers. This can be found especially in Darts World Championship betting sites, since the first rounds have some major mismatches.
How to Bet on Darts
Stepping up to the oche for the first time? We’ll take you through all you need to know for darts betting.
Darts Live Betting
Darts is a sport that benefits from live betting. There are several leg and set markets that only appear mid-match and can only be wagered on in-play. This means that your betting options could double or even triple, which is great.
Live betting is also useful because darts is a game of form, and only the very best can come back from a losing position. Waiting for the first few darts to be thrown could help you make some more well-informed bets.
Darts Livestreaming – Show Within a Show
Darts is a brilliant spectator sport, and livestream betting can be the perfect match. While watching, you’re able to see metrics that live stats simply won’t show. This includes form, bottle, atmosphere, and how well a player is coping with the occasion.
Darts Betting Tips and Strategies
If you want to start hitting those bullseyes on your bets, using our darts betting tips and strategies could make the difference. Why not try one of these?
Consider players’ recent form
Darts players are prone to large dips and boosts in form and confidence, depending on how well they’re playing. It’s one of the simplest darts betting tips, but make sure to check each player's recent match results, as it’s one of the only valuable stats worth checking.
Research who’re the crowd favourites
The crowd has an almost mystical ability to lift players to incredible heights. Just look at Stephen Bunting. Therefore, betting on a player that’s being carried over by the crowd can yield surprising results, and let’s go Bunting mental!
Bet on the throw
It’s simple – whoever starts in darts, tends to win the leg. In the World Championship final, out of 39 legs, only 10 were won against the throw. The darts betting odds will reflect this too.

Major Tournaments for Darts Betting
The 180s never stop! With great competitions throughout the whole year, there are plenty of chances for PDC darts betting. Here are a few of the biggest and best tournaments to sink your teeth into.
Played at the iconic Ally Pally (Alexandra Palace), the World Darts Championship is the biggest tournament on the calendar. It takes place from mid-December till the 3rd of January and features the very best in the sport. The darts World Championship has betting sites stock up their page full of promotions, so make sure not to miss out on those.
Darts’ “other event”, the World Darts Matchplay, takes place in July each year and is held at the Empress Ballrooms, at Blackpool’s famous Winter Gardens. This event features a field of 32 and is much loved by the players because the fans are so close to the action. This proximity between spectator and performer creates one of the most unique atmospheres in UK sport.
The Premier League Darts first began in 2005 and is an eight-man tournament played every Thursday from February to May. It’s played in 17 different venues across the UK and EU, and the final is set at the O2 Arena in London. The Darts Premier League has betting sites buzzing with regular promotions and boosts. Fun fact – it’s the only competition on this list that Phil Taylor hasn’t won the most times.
The Grand Slam of Darts is the first major event of the PDC season and features the top 16 darts players according to the PDC Order of Merit. The event has been held at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall since it began in 2007, and takes place annually in November. Great for darts betting, since it’s so closely fought.
Held each October at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin, Ireland, the darts World Grand Prix is a rare ‘double in – double out’ PDC darts tournament. Players must begin and end each leg by throwing a double.
Known as the FA Cup of darts, the UK Open usually takes place in early March, and is an unseeded, knock-out event where fixtures are determined by an open draw rather than a fixed route. 160 players, amateur and pro, compete over eight stages before the PDC's top 32 enter the tournament in the fourth round. As with its football equivalent, anyone can draw and beat anyone.
In addition to those mentioned above, the Players Championship, the European Championship, the Gibraltar Darts Trophy, the PDC Home Tour, the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters, and the Modus Icon of Darts are a few other tournaments known and loved by darts fans everywhere. Check out our in-depth guides of each one for all the latest news, odds and darts betting tips.
