Marseille will be looking to return to winning ways following two losses in a row. A Clinton Njie goal wasn’t enough to see Marseille get anything out of their game versus Stade Reims as they lost 2-1.
The hosts have been less than impressive in Ligue 1 this season sitting tenth in the division, winning nine, drawing four and losing nine of their 22 games.
Marseille have only managed one win in their last six games, but they have only tasted defeat twice at home in the league this season. It’s on their travels they struggle more, losing seven of their 12 away games.
Bordeaux will also be looking to put last week behind them suffering a Coupe de la Ligue defeat to Strasbourg – only four days after losing to them in the league.
Éric Bedouet’s side sit 12th in Ligue 1 and they’ve struggled to get a winning run going, winning seven, losing seven and drawing seven of their 21 league games this season.
Bordeaux are not good on the road, only managing two away wins this season. Moreover, they’ve only managed to notch seven goals away from home, the second-lowest in the league.
The hosts will be without Dimitri Payet and Adil Rami who are both sidelined with injuries while Hiroki Sakai misses out due to international duty. Florian Thauvin is out with a suspension.
Bordeaux will have to make do without Zaydou Youssouf, Nicolas De Preville and Aurillien Tchouameni who all miss out with injury.

Les Phocéens have also bolstered their attacking options with the addition of Mario Balotelli who will be looking to impress at his new club.
However, Marseille have only managed one clean sheet in their last ten in all competitions so expect Bordeaux to grab a goal. With only three points separating the two, Marseille will be keen to put some breathing space between themselves and the visitors.
