Two of the Premier League's in-form sides meet on Friday night as newly promoted Wolves welcome table-toppers Liverpool to Molineux.
Prior to December, Wolves were on a run of 6 games without a victory but have since bounced back with 3 successive wins which includes an impressive 2-1 win at home to Chelsea, a 1-2 win away to Newcastle and most recently a 2-0 win at home to Bournemouth.
A look at Wolves' xG data tells us that they are under-performing in front of goal. The West Midlands based outfit have scored 19 goals, yet have an xG of 23.41. Interestingly, they have also been unlucky at the other end having conceded 19 goals this season, despite having an xGA of 15.02.
A win for the The Wanderers will see them temporarily overtake Man Utd in 6th.
Visitors Liverpool come into this fixture off the back of 6 consecutive wins in the league and maybe rather more impressively have yet to taste defeat this campaign.
Their most recent victory was a 3-1 win over rivals Man Utd, which included 2 goals from substitute Xherdan Shaqiri, and has since lead to the sacking of Jose Mourinho.
Liverpool have scored the second-most number of goals in the Premier League (37), but it's the defense that is gaining the plaudits this season – and rightly so. Jurgen Klopp's side boast the best defensive record having conceded just 7 goals after 17 games which includes a league-high 10 clean sheets.
A win will see them extend their lead at the top of the table to 4 points.
Diogo Jota is the only player missing for the home side.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold and remain sidelined for the away side.
Potential Wolves Starting XI: Patrício, Boly, Coady, Bennett, Jonny, Neves, Moutinho, Doherty, Gibbs-White, Jiménez, Costa
Potential Liverpool Starting XI: Alisson, Robertson, Dijk, Lovren, Milner, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Mané, Firmino, Shaqiri, Salah

Key Stats & Facts

- Liverpool have scored 3 or more goals in their last 3 away matches in the Premier League.
- Wolves have scored 2 or more goals in their last 3 matches in the Premier League.
- Wolves – 6/1
- Draw – 17/5
- Liverpool – 11/20
Wolves are a team that seem to enjoy playing against the bigger sides so I'm expecting a competitive game here.
Wolves boast a record of W1-D3-L1 against top 6 sides this season and have won at least one half in 4 of those 5 games. Based on those stats, and considering the form that Nuno Espírito Santo's side are in, the 23/10 on offer for Wolves ‘To Win Either Half' has to be a play.
Elsewhere, there has been exactly 2 or 3 goals scored in 4/5 games that Wolves have played against top 6 sides this season while there has been exactly 2 or 3 goals scored in 4/8 games Liverpool have played against sides currently sitting in the top 10 – all 4 of which came on the road.
With that in mind, I'm happy taking 11/10 for 2-3 goals between the two sides on Friday.
