Arsenal have started to show glimpses of the previous seasons, having turned one of their best starts to a Premier League into a horrible situation. They went on a 22 unbeaten streak, however that has now become a distant memory. They come into the game on the back of an unforgiving display against Liverpool, which despite going 1-0 up after 11 minutes they ended the first half 4-1 down.
Fulham are looking a much tighter outfit under Ranieri, who has put a lot of focus into their inability to defend. He definitely has made some major improvements, and we can only expect more to come once the transfer window is open and he is given the finances to put his philosophy into the squad.
Fulham’s victory last time out against Huddersfield has seen them go within just one point of lifting themselves out of the relegation. Arsenal’s recent form on the contrary has seen them drift out to create a 5 point gap between them and the top 4, and a 7 point gap between them and bitter rivals Spurs.
Arsenal have a huge injury list, and its just forever getting worse. They currently have Ozil, Mavropanos, Bellerin, Holding, Mkhitarayan, Welbeck and Smith-Rowe out.
Fulham have a much better situation with them only missing Andre-Frank Zambo. Mawson was substituted early in their last game however it is expected he will return in time.
Potential Arsenal Starting XI: Leno, Lichsteiner, Mustafi, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Torreira, Guendouzi, Iwobi, Ramsey, Lacazette, Aubameyang.
Potential Fulham Starting XI: Rico, Odoi, Ream, Mawson, Christie, Bryan, Chambers, Seri, Cairney, Mitrovic, Sessegnon.
Head To Head
- Arsenal have beaten Fulham 4 of the last 5 times the sides have met.
- Fulham have never won away against Arsenal.
- 7 of the last 10 between the pair have seen both teams to score.
Key Stats & Facts
- Arsenal come into this game in very poor form, having only 1 win in their last 5 games.
- Fulham come into the game on the back of only their second victory under new manager Ranieri.
- Fulham have struggled for goals as of late, only scoring 3 goals in the last 5 games.
- Arsenal 3/10
- Draw 19/4
- Fulham 7/1
Both teams have shown in spurts what they have to offer. I would expect Arsenal to see this as a perfect opportunity to get back onto some sort of form, and I’m sure they will snatch at the opportunity against Fulham. Fulham have become more resilient at the back, but I would be surprised if they managed to keep Aubameyang and Lacazette quiet for 90 minutes.
