Introduction

With a huge selection of betting markets and availability in French, Dutch, and Spanish, it’s clear BetTarget are aimed at a broad audience. And, with a user-focused design and their innovative and practical Target Tip feature, the early signs certainly look good. Join us as we dive deeper to discover if BetTarget do enough to earn a recommendation against immense competition.

Registration Process 5/5

  • Four steps
  • Basic information required
  • Well laid-out

BetTarget’s registration process is split into four parts: email, login details, confirmation, and claiming the welcome bonus.

To begin, new customers will have to provide their email address in the screen shown above before clicking the ‘ENTER’ button available. The login process includes creating a BetTarget username and password.

You’re then required to confirm your personal details. The information needed is basic, such as mobile phone number, address, name, preferred currency, and date of birth.

Once you’ve given that information, agree to the terms and conditions and the bookmaker’s privacy and cookie policies. You also have the choice of whether you’d like to receive information regarding any special offers. We strongly advise you do so in order to get the most out of BetTarget’s promotional offerings. This is also where you can enter any bonus codes that you may have got your hands on.

BetTarget will then encourage you to make your first deposit and take advantage of their sports welcome offer.

Opinion

This is a completely hassle-free registration process suitable for even the most inexperienced of newcomers. In addition, the bonus code process, as well as the option to sign up for more promotions, is made crystal clear - meaning there’s no chance of missing out on anything by mistake. Everything we could want from a registration process!

Deposits & Withdrawal Options 3/5

  • Several payment options
  • Surprising fees for debit card deposits
  • Easy depositing and withdrawing processes

There are several payment options available for UK customers, including debit card (Visa, Mastercard and Maestro), PayPal, bank transfer (instant banking), Trustly, Neteller, Skrill, MuchBetter, Payz (formerly ecoPayz), and paysafecard.

The minimum deposit for each of these methods is £10; however, information regarding maximum deposits wasn’t accessible. 2.5% fees are also included with debit cards and PayPal deposits.

TBC TBC 0-2 Free

The withdrawal time with each method varies. For example, customers can expect to receive their funds within six days with a debit card, two days with PayPal and MuchBetter, and four days with Trustly and instant banking.

Opinion

It is surprising that debit card is both one of the few payment methods with fees attached and which takes six days to complete withdrawals. As a result, we have to recommend that you utilise an alternative payment method if possible. We do not often say this, as debit cards are typically a very user-friendly option. Other than that, the payment options, fees, and transaction times are all excellent, with plenty of variety to suit a spectrum of users.

Depositing Funds

To deposit funds into your BetTarget account, click the purple ‘Deposit’ icon located in the top right-hand corner of the home page. A list of the bookmaker’s payment options, shown in the above image, will then manifest.

We opted to deposit via debit card – specifically, Visa Debit.

To deposit with a new card, we had to list the card number, name on the card, expiry date, and security code. Three default deposit amounts appeared, but we wanted to deposit the minimum £10.

As you can see, after we put £10 into the ‘Amount’ bar, BetTarget confirmed that we would incur a 2.5% fee  – meaning a charge of £10.25 for our maiden deposit. However, we would not have been imposed with any further costs if we chose most other payment methods. This is only the case, at the time of writing, when depositing with debit cards or PayPal.

If you forgot to add a promo code during the registration process, you can do it here. We didn’t have any codes, so we went ahead and clicked the green ‘Deposit’ icon to fund our account.

Confirmation of our £10 deposit is shown above.

Withdrawing Winnings

Do note that, before the withdrawal process can begin, you may be required to provide a government-issued ID document to verify your identity. Additional documentation can include a passport or recent utility bill for proof of address. This is a standard procedure required at all legitimate bookmakers online to prevent fraud and illegal activity from occurring.

These can be uploaded via the contact form found under the “Contact us” link at the bottom of any page on the site.

To withdraw funds from your BetTarget account, begin by clicking your profile icon located next to your balance in the top-right corner of the homepage. Once you hover over that icon, a dropdown list will present itself – as shown below.

Click ‘My Account’. That’ll bring up the below page. To withdraw, click the grey ‘CASHOUT’ icon below ‘DEPOSIT’.

You then have to confirm your withdrawal method and the amount you wish to withdraw from your account. In our case, we wanted to take out the entirety of our current £11.50 balance.

By clicking ‘Request Cashout’, BetTarget should receive your withdrawal request.

Confirmation of our withdrawal request can be seen above.

Opinion

Just like during the registration process, BetTarget proves itself easy to use in all the key areas. Both deposit and withdrawals are a breeze, and they do a great job of explaining and keeping the user informed throughout each step involved.

Welcome Offer 4/5

  • Bet £15 Get £10
  • Most of sportsbook available for Free Bet token
  • No wagering requirements

While BetTarget’s Bet £15 Get £10 welcome promotion might initially seem a little bit lacklustre – customers are rewarded with less than their initial deposit – its true value comes through in the terms and conditions.

Punters will receive a £10 ‘free bet token’ after they stake their first £15 on BetTarget’s sportsbook, with no promo code required at the time of writing.

This free bet token can then be used on most sports betting markets, with the exception of horse racing, greyhound racing, or outright markets.

You have a maximum of 14 days to use your free bet, which is reasonable.

What really sets this offer apart, though, is the total lack of wagering requirements, meaning that whatever you win with your free bet (excluding the stake amount) can be withdrawn as you please. This puts it in seriously rare company.

Other important terms to consider are the minimum odds required.

Your qualifying bet must be at a minimum of £15 and must be placed on a market with minimum odds of 2.00 or more.

The free bet token itself must then be utilised on a selection with total odds of 1.80 or higher. As neither break evens, we would consider this to be a competitive minimum.

Deposits made using PayPal, NETELLER, paysafecard, Skrill, or Skrill 1-tap also do not qualify. It is standard for such payment options to be restricted from welcome offers.

Other expected restrictions include the use of cash out bets or system bets for this promotion.

Opinion

A lack of wagering requirements makes this welcome offer an excellent incentive for newcomers to try out BetTarget without any huge commitments or harsh terms to worry about. And a real pattern is emerging here, which is that BetTarget is an operator committed to providing a great sports betting platform for casual punters.

Sportsbook Promotions 3.5/5

  • Leaderboard promotions
  • Horse racing & emphasis on football
  • Healthy cash pools
  • No VIP programme

BetTarget’s welcome offer may be the first to get your attention, but rest assured, there are plenty of other sportsbook promotions for punters to get stuck into.

Odds boosts, for instance, are a key part of their promotional offerings. This means that every day there are markets where you can get enhanced odds for a bigger bottom line on your returns. They are available for a wide variety of sports too, meaning all kinds of betting fans can benefit.

There’s also a progressive percentage bonus on accumulator bets, going from 4% on 4-folds all the way up to a whopping 77% extra on 15-fold accas.

Perhaps most interesting of all, the bookmaker offers various ‘Battles’ for different football and horse racing events.

These battles are leaderboards in which punters compete against one another for a lucrative cash prize and free bets.

There’s no real limit as to which tournaments can be utilised either; new options are offered by the site on a regular basis. We’ve seen the Premier League, Euros and various horse racing events all used.

The minimum amount can also vary between battles, meaning options for both casual and experienced users. There’s also no set limit to cash prizes, meaning the sky is the limit.

And of course, all of this is only what’s available on the bonus page at the time of writing. We fully expect more fun, creative promotions, and considering they have provided consistently fair terms and conditions, valuable ones too. Just be sure to sign up to receive e-mail updates and check the promo page regularly to avoid missing out.

Do keep in mind this is just an overview. As such, we recommend that you check out the terms and conditions on any and all offers you are interested in for the fullest, most up to date picture of what’s available.

VIP/Loyalty Programme

BetTarget currently do not boast a VIP or Loyalty programme of any kind for their customers. However, the number of extra promotions available to existing players does reward loyalty in a roundabout way. Whether there’s a VIP promotion specifically or not, consistent rewards are available.

Opinion

Despite there being no specific loyalty programme, we would say that the additional promotions offered by BetTarget do a great job of further enhancing the user experience beyond the welcome bonus. Not only do they offer real, tangible value through enhanced betting odds and beyond, but they also provide creative betting opportunities with a sense of community through their betting battles. We don’t know what the future will bring, but we do have every reason to feel optimistic!

Pre-Match Offer 4.5/5

  • Dozens of sports available, including several e-sports
  • Cash out and bet builder both available
  • Great odds and football coverage

A broad variety of sporting disciplines make up BetTarget’s sportsbook, allowing punters to bet on leagues, events, and competitions from all over the world.

These include huge international markets such as MMA betting, cricket betting, and tennis gambling, to give a few examples, alongside less common sportsbook options like cycling and handball.

Important too is that they don’t just cover the big events – you can often find more local sides and competitions available here alongside lower leagues. Plus, the market selection per event is typically extensive. You can still bet on who you think will win, but also on all kinds of additional creative markets on almost every predictable facet of a game.

Perhaps most impressive of all is BetTarget’s football coverage. At the time of writing, there were 1,169 football events to bet on.

On average, BetTarget offers a more than sufficient 350 markets for the most popular matches. There’s plenty to get stuck into, overall.

But how do their odds stack up?

To measure the quality of BetTarget’s margins, we used the odds overround. The latter is a calculation that combines the total percentage probability of all selections in a match coming true. Naturally, the result of this should come to 100% – however, this does not factor in the profits made by the bookmaker. For this reason, it is widely accepted that any figure below 110% is considered to indicate fair odds.

We picked three games at random from the Premier League, Coppa Italia, and EFL Championship that returned margins of 104.54%, 104.89%, and 105.12% respectively. This would suggest that BetTarget’s odds are both competitive and notably consistent.

Punters can display their odds as fractions, decimals or American. The minimum stake is 8p, while the maximum stake is bet dependent.

Placing a Bet

We wanted to place a football bet with BetTarget. To do so, we scanned the listed sports down the left-hand side of the homepage. Football, due to its popularity, is listed at the top. There were a plethora of leagues available to bet on, and we opted to punt on the FA Cup tie between Liverpool and Norwich.

After clicking ‘Football’, the countries manifest as a list below. To access FA Cup markets, we simply ticked the relevant box after opening up the ‘England’ tab.

That brought up all of the day’s games, as shown below. As you can see, we’re hovering over odds of 3/20 that denote a Liverpool victory over Norwich. By clicking these odds, this bet was immediately placed in our bet slip.

Here’s our bet in our bet slip.

We opted to place £10 on this bet for returns of £11.50. To confirm our bet, we entered the stake and clicked ‘Place Bets!’.

It took just seconds for our bet to be processed and authorised.

Confirmation of our bet is shown above.

Esports

When BetTarget first launched back in 2021, the esports selection was one of its weaker points. They only had one game available in League of Legends, and it was fair to say they looked unlikely to bother the best esports betting websites for the foreseeable future.

How far they have come in such a short space of time. Today, BetTarget can boast an enormous selection of markets, including the likes of Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Kings of Glory, Rainbow Six, StarCraft, Overwatch, VALORANT, Call of Duty, Rocket League, and of course, that old favourite League of Legends.

And it’s not just quantity found here but quality too, thanks to strong odds, deep market options and statistical details. Utilise the latter alongside our esports betting tips for your best chance of making the most out of BetTarget’s fabulous esports selection.

Other Specials (Politics, Weather, Celebrities, etc.)

BetTarget covers a wide range of specials markets in immense detail. Take their coverage of the 2022 Oscars and BAFTAs, as an example.

A multitude of markets were available to bet on, including Best Picture/Film, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director. Other, more niche, awards are also covered, such as Best Animated Feature Film and Best Documentary Feature.

That’s just an example. They can cover anything and everything they think may be of interest to their user. Take the US Presidential elections or the Christmas number 1 as a couple of other market highlights.

We can’t tell you what specials markets will be offered in the future. In a sense, though, that is what makes them so special. What we can say is that BetTarget have proven a commitment to as broad a selection as possible with competitive odds, whatever it might be.

Cash Out & Bet Builder

You can take full control of your bets with BetTarget’s cash-out or partial cash-out features.

There are no set rules on which markets cash outs may be available on; however, we can say that, in our experience, it was a very commonly available option on every sport we tested. The ability to partially cash out also assists with strategic flexibility.

In addition, BetTarget have also included a bet builder feature available on football, American football, Australian rules football, baseball, basketball, rugby (League & Union), cricket and tennis.

This allows you to craft almost any bet you please, meaning the already ample market opportunities are expanded upon greatly. The bet building process is also nice and simple to put together – you can even pair additional bet builders from separate events.

Opinion

BetTarget tick every key box we have in terms of pre-match market expectations. There’s a very broad selection of sports available, with great depth in terms of events per market and leagues covered. Their odds are competitive, while features such as cash-out and bet builder work well and are broadly applicable. The addition of more esports markets in a short space of time in particular showcases this operator’s ability to improve quickly. We’re impressed.

Live Offer 3/5

  • Decent selection of live markets
  • Neat features that enhance experience
  • Livestreaming available for some sports

BetTarget’s live coverage is easily accessible via the in-play tab highlighted in white in the above image (on the left-hand side of the page). Overall, it was a little bit limited in terms of the number of games and sports offered, but it does offer an excellent experience for all live markets available. This is thanks to intuitive design and plenty of useful extras.

Live features are powered by Stats Score, including statistics, a match tracker, head-to-head records, league tables, starting XIs, and the game’s key events. These ensure punters get a gauge of what’s going on, and are vital additional tools to help you craft a successful betting strategy that works.

Meanwhile, although live betting might not be quite as broadly available on as many events as pre-game markets, they do make sure that anything that is covered is done so comprehensively.

In the above game, a Turkish Super Lig encounter, there were over 100 in-play markets. This is pretty impressive considering the likely popularity of this fixture.

There is also a limited livestreaming service, offering high-quality video coverage of some sports, particularly esports. We hope to see this expanded in the near future.

Security 4/5

  • Licensed and regulated by the UKGC and the MGA
  • Strong responsible gambling emphasis
  • Several available account restrictions

BetTarget is operated by Aspire Global International Ltd, which, in turn, are licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). They also hold an Irish betting licence.

For their UK operations, they’re licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), while games are provided by AG Communications.

At the bottom of the homepage, external links are provided for potential problem gamblers to seek further support. A dedicated responsible gambling page can be also accessed via a link. A self-assessment test immediately manifests before the information is provided regarding the protection of minors, preventing compulsive gambling and gauging problem gambling. More external links are also provided here.

To prevent potential addiction, BetTarget has several account restrictions for customers to set when they feel it’s necessary. These restrictions include deposit limits, a reality check, time-outs and self-exclusion. Punters can also set session time limits and autoplay limits.

The bookmaker’s privacy and cookie policies are also available to view via the ‘Privacy’ link accessible at the bottom of the homepage. The policies are fair and comprehensive and offer details on how your information is kept safe. Furthermore, they only utilise reputable banking options, while their terms and conditions are reasonable and transparent throughout.

Opinion

To an extent, the security credentials of a betting site come down to reputation. With BetTarget being such a new face on the online gaming scene this is largely absent, or at least less robust than more established alternatives. However, that’s something that comes with time. Every security challenge they do have control over has been met with gusto. They are licensed, have excellent responsible gambling features and advice, along with safe banking options and fair terms throughout. Excellent security, and still likely to improve.

Service & Customer Support 4/5

  • Robust FAQ section
  • Support isn’t 24/7
  • Live chat & email

Customers can access BetTarget’s FAQ section through the ‘Getting Started’ link displayed at the bottom of the homepage. Their FAQs section is rigorous and robust, with queries split into 12 different categories. A multitude of questions are answered here.

However, if you require further assistance, BetTarget’s support team are on hand. You can contact the bookmaker via live chat (available every day between 07:00 and 23:00) and email. These options are shown in the above image.

We opted to test out BetTarget’s Live Chat function. After clicking the icon, a small tab opened up in the bottom right-hand corner. By clicking ‘Customer Support’, our live chat session began.

It took no time at all to connect to an agent and we asked about any VIP programme the bookmaker might have. Swiftly, they responded with a detailed response that explained why their loyalty scheme no longer exists. They cited the “changes to how we can reward our players” as the primary reason why they had to ditch this programme.

This response was massively helpful, and after our initial query was resolved, they asked whether there was anything else they could help us with. This was a nice touch, and our experience with BetTarget’s customer support was pleasant, overall.

Design & Usability 3/5

  • Mediocre design but coherent structure
  • Clean technical performance
  • ‘Target Tip’

BetTarget’s website boasts a primarily blue, black, and white colour scheme. The design is forgettable, but at least they avoid including gimmicky advertisements as a means of sprucing up the site.

The structure, on the other hand, is rather impressive. Tabs are illustrated clearly, and all components of the site are easily accessible.

The centre of the page is dominated by events and markets. Down the left-hand side, BetTarget’s sportsbook is listed below favourited events, as well as Trending Bets and Booster Bets. On the opposite flank, the ever-presence of your bet slip simplifies and fastens the betting process.

There was little to no fault from a technical perspective. And, although there was some delay on the promotions page, this slight lag isn’t enough to detract from an admirable technical performance, overall.

There isn’t a blog, nor are there any statistics. However, BetTarget’s ‘Target Tip’ can be used by customers to aid their betting strategy. This is a recommendation engine that analyses data and information before providing suitable bets on a range of sporting events and markets.

Opinion

BetTarget might not be reinventing the wheel in terms of betting site aesthetics, but the platform is certainly serviceable in terms of style and more than makes up for any shortcomings through a strong structure and reliability.

Mobile 3/5

  • Currently no mobile app
  • Optimised browser version is available
  • Mobile site every bit as good as desktop

BetTarget currently has no mobile app available to download from the App Store or Google Play. That being said, they do have a browser version which is optimised for mobile. And we’d say that all the positive sentiments we expressed above also apply here – in fact, the mobile browser option might be the best way of experiencing BetTarget. Nevertheless, we feel that the total lack of app will be a disappointment to many.

Other Products

BetTarget also boasts a casino product for customers. There are numerous games to enjoy, including slots, jackpots and table games, as well as live casino events. These live events range from blackjack to roulette and baccarat to poker.

New customers can take advantage of a casino welcome offer offered by the bookmaker. However, this welcome offer isn’t very rewarding. While punters can earn up to 200 bonus spins on various games, they’re forced to deposit a large sum to receive these bonuses.

After you make your first deposit (minimum £10) you’ll receive 50 free spins on Book of Dead. But then, your next two deposits must be at least £20 to receive 100 spins on Fire Joker and 50 on Starburst.

This bonus is only available for UK customers.

What other punters are saying?

Before we go to our final rating, we want to make clear that there are some users who have expressed disappointment. Some are for flaws we have mentioned here. Others also expressed issues with customer service and/or encountered technical issues. In spite of this, there are also many fans of the site. All we can do is provide the most comprehensive account of our research and experiences, which is what we’ve done during this review. Nonetheless, it’s worth considering that not everyone has been satisfied with BetTarget’s offering when deciding if it’s right for you.

ThePuntersPage Final Say 3.7/5

Our research suggests that the reception to BetTarget has been mixed. A great deal of that is down to the fees attached to debit cards, which for many will simply make them an illogical choice. There’s also the lack of mobile apps, a deal-breaker for some.

Even so, we still think the good outweighs the bad here. The site has fantastic sports market variety, solid promotional choices, and is well-designed for newcomers. It has also improved their esports section greatly, making it one of our favourite new bookmakers in this regard.

If you tend to use payment methods other than debit card, we think BetTarget is worthy of your consideration, and are one bookmaker we’re expecting to get even better in the near future.
