City take a trip to the south coast to take on a Bournemouth side who will be out to cause an upset. The Cherries have put in some spirited performances against Man City at home in recent years only going down by a single goal in the last two meetings at the vitality stadium.
Man City will still be reeling from their controversial draw against Spurs and they’ll be hopeful that they can get all 3 points continue on their path towards another title.
City had the best defence away from home last season and they’ll be hopeful that they can continue that form.
Bournemouth struggled against newcomers, Sheffield United, on the opening day of the season but they did produce a good performance away from home against Aston Villa and they’ll have to carry that on if they are to get a good result against the reigning Premier League Champions. They are unfortunately without as host of players such as David Brooks, Lewis Cook, Simon Francis and Dan Gosling.
City will be without Leory Sane and Benjamin Mendy.
Bournemouth will be without Lewis Cook, Simon Francis, Dan Gosling and David Brooks.

Key Stats & Facts
- Bournemouth 14/1
- Draw 13/2
- Man City 1/6
City come into this game as favourites which is no surprise, but it could be a tricky afternoon for them on the south coast. Previous encounters here have often been tight and involved some drama. City are unbeaten in their last two visits to the Vitality Stadium and I think they will edge it again on Sunday afternoon.
City looked a little shaky against Spurs and they conceded two soft goals by their standards. Bournemouth will have chances in this match, and I think they will be able to find the back of the net. City will be looking to bounce back to top form here and after winning their first away game of the season 5-0 I think they could be on the goal path again. Both Teams to score and City to win is priced at 13/8 and I think that’s a decent angle into the match.
Another angle I like in this match is in the cards market. Bournemouth Fullback, Adam Smith, is priced at 10/3 (Paddy Power) to be shown a card in the match. Smith picked up 5 yellow cards and one red card last season and he has 1 yellow in 2 matches so far thus. Smith will be up against a lot of attacking talent and he’ll probably have the inexperienced Harry Wilson in front of him so it could be a difficult day for Smith.
City have a lot of attacking talent in their side and Bournemouth also aren’t afraid to play their style of football against anyone. A lot was made about the inconsistencies of VAR last weekend and I think there will be a larger crack down on foul play in the penalty area. A penalty to be awarded in the match is 7/4 and I think that could be a good angle with the two sides being attack minded and VAR potentially keeping a much closer and clearer eye on the match.
