Chelsea have strolled their way through to the knock-out stages if this competition, winning all four of their four games so far in Group L, conceding just once.

They have won three of their four matches by a 1-0 score line, which shows they are managing to scrape through games without having to play particularly well. As they have already qualified, the chances are that Maurizio Sarri will give some of the fringe players a run out, which could make this game slightly more competitive.

The Greek side gave Chelsea a real game in the reverse fixture and were probably unlucky to not take anything from the game. Chelsea won that one 1-0 with a relatively strong side so changes here could make this game a little more interesting than it seems on first glance.

PAOK need three points to stay in with a shout of qualifying from the group, so will no doubt have to go at the home side at some point. They have won their last three games domestically, so come into the game with some confidence and will be hoping Chelsea struggle for motivation to win the game.

Team News

Eden Hazard picked up a slight injury at the weekend and is not expected to be risked here. Chelsea are otherwise injury free but, given they are already through, expect a lot of rotation.

Leo Matos is available gain after being suspended in the last round but he is the only player missing for the game.

Potential Chelsea Starting XI: Caballero; Zappacosta, Christensen, Cahill, Emerson; Barkley, Fabregas, Loftus-Cheek; Pedro, Giroud, Willian

Potential PAOK Starting XI: Paschalakis; Matos, Varela, Crespo, Tosca; Wernbloom, Mauricio; Kaddouri, Pelkas, Limnios; Prijovic

Head To Head

  • The reverse fixture was the first time these two have ever played each other, with Chelsea winning 1-0 out in Greece.

Key Stats & Facts

  • Chelsea have won their last seven Europa League matches.
  • Chelsea are already through to the knock-out stage of the competition.
  • PAOK need a win to stay in with a chance of qualifying.

Betting Odds

  • Chelsea – 1/3
  • Draw – 47/10
  • PAOK – 10/1

The Verdict

Given there is little for Chelsea to play for, betting on this game becomes slightly more tricky.

The Greek side need to win, so will be pushing for all three points, which could play into the home side’s hands and given Chelsea are four from four in this group, you would fancy them to win this game, regardless of the circumstances.

The Blues come into the game on the back of their first league defeat of the season to Spurs, who made them pay for some rather sloppy defensive mistakes. Sarri will be keen to see a reaction from his team, who will be largely changed from that 3-1 loss at Wembley.

Chelsea’s games in this group have been low-scoring affairs, other than the 3-1 win over Bate and given all the changes, I can’t see this one being particularly high-scoring.
