Huddersfield v Liverpool Betting Preview, Odds & Tips
- Date: 20/10/18
- Time: 17:30pm
- Venue: John Smith's Stadium
- Channel: BT Sport 1
The international break probably came at a good time for Liverpool, prior to it they were winless in 4. Admittedly though they came in games against Manchester City, Napoli and Chelsea (twice), they won't be coming up against that level of opposition here.
Huddersfield currently sit in the drop zone and the underlying performance data also has them as bottom 3 material. They remain winless and are struggling at both ends of the pitch and will not be looking forward to facing a Liverpool side with plenty of attacking options.
Two friends from their Borussia Dortmund days meet in the dugout in Jurgen Klopp and David Wagner. It will be a successful season if the latter can keep his side in this division, they'll be targeting games against teams in and around them. It's doubtful they'll get anything here.
Huddersfield will be without Danny Williams, Terrence Kongolo and Tommy Smith. They're also questions over the fitness of Phillip Billing and Isaac Mbenza.
Naby Keita will miss out for Liverpool due an injury picked up during the international break. Sadio Mane and Mo Salah should be fit to play. James Milner is also back in contention.
Potential Huddersfield Starting XI: Lossl, Durm, Zanka, Schindler, Lowe, Hogg, Mooy, Pritchard, Van La Parra, Kachunga, Depoitre.
Potential Liverpool Starting XI: Allison, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Wijnaldum, Henderson, Milner, Salah, Mane, Firmino.
Key Stats & Facts
- Huddersfield have failed to score in their last 6 home games.
- Liverpool have won to nil in their last 3 meetings with Huddersfield.Liverpool have scored at least two goals in their last 3 matches against Huddersfield.
- Huddersfield – 12/1
- Draw – 9/2
- Liverpool – 1/3
Liverpool have a strong recent record against Huddersfield and I can see them winning this fairly comfortably especially with the lack of attacking threat from the hosts. The asian handicap line is set at 1.5 and I'm happy to get on board with that. This works the same way as a normal handicap selection but at a slightly better price.
Both games last season ended 3-0 to the Reds and I'm happy to have a smaller play on that particular scoreline.
