Manchester City will relish some sort of a mini international break as the realisation of the quadruple is really on, especially after their mid-week job over Schalke and have plenty of depth in their squad should they choose come kick off.

Swansea have only won three of their last nine but are unbeaten in seven at the Liberty must hold some weighting despite getting just one draw from the last six meetings in head to head comparison. The Swans having been previously recent Premier League participants have suffered heavy defeats in recent meetings with City.

Team News

Oliver McBurnie remains a doubt with Daniel James odds on to step in if necessary, but a certainty is that Bersant Celina is effectively cup tied from the fixture

Swansea could name a varied line up this weekend but probably will name a similar outfit that have been victors in earlier rounds in this competition.

Pep Guardiola has plenty of depth in his squad and could afford to rest some key players remaining strong enough to see their opposition off.

Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho will sit this out with Delph a probable contender to make the starting XI.

Phil Foden will need the nod from Pep, but may have to settle for a place on the bench for this encounter and Nicolás Otamendi and John Stones have been effective at the back and more than likely to continue their collation in defence.

Potential Swansea Starting XI: Nordfeldt, Roberts, Hoom, Carter-Vickers, Naughton, Byers, Grimes, Fulton, Routledge, James and Dyer

Potential Manchester City Starting XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Danilo, Silva, Delph, Gundogan, Sane, Jesus and Mahrez

The Verdict

The match odds are super short on City at an incredible 86.73% chance of winning the game, with the hosts in the Championship at a whopping 22/1 at the Liberty stadium to pull off an upset. With the odds calculated as they are, the Asian winning lines pits City placed at -2.25 to get anywhere near even money to win the game. Effectively required to win by three or more to get a pay out with limited half stake insurance on the quarter goal.

Pep Guardiola has plenty of depth at his disposal and is likely to rest a few players that mauled Schalke in the Champions League midweek. The expectation is for City to come through this match with relative ease with the odds suggesting.

For City to do what they did in midweek showed how ruthless they can be against their opposition and have to believe that Swansea will set up to defend this game as best as possible.

City will be difficult to break down and are -6 on the corner handicap to beat City around the even money mark. However, attempting to back such a handicap could be iffy to say the least.

The usual suspect markets such as a win to nil is skinny at 8/11 best priced, with the win/both teams to score is almost 2/1 at 39/20 with Marathonbet. With the double result, being City HT and FT is just 1/2, but even money for them to win both halves with Betway.

City have led 10/14 on the road in the Premier League at half time and 8/14 netting in the second half and at evens I can think of worse off bets!
