Why Are Some Table Tennis Betting Sites Ranked Higher Than Others?
While all sites we've recommended above will provide a superb betting experience, only a certain few made it to the top 5. Here's why:
- Coverage of table tennis betting markets: The more, the merrier, and that certainly applies when it comes to betting. While compiling this list, we looked at the range of table tennis tournaments, as well as the depth of markets for every table tennis match.
- Competitive odds: You won’t make profit if you don’t have value, so odds play a huge role in how we ranked these sportsbooks. With niche sports like table tennis, there are often good opportunities to find prices that don’t reflect the true probability of an event occurring.
- Safety: We never recommend sportsbooks that might put players at risk. Every bookie on the list is licensed by the UKGC and has a track record of trustworthiness.

Top 8 Table Tennis Betting Sites Reviewed
#1 bet365 Table Tennis
As they do with many sports, bet365 offer a complete package when it comes to table tennis betting. They offer a long list of international table tennis tournaments, which can be displayed by clicking on the “Table Tennis” option on the left-hand side of your screen. They also provide a free betting promotion to their users.
Perhaps the biggest appeal for bet365 is their live streaming service, which allows you to watch select tennis matches for free so long as you have a positive balance or have placed a bet within the last 24 hours. To see which matches will be live streamed, all you have to do is click “in-play” in the top-left corner, select table tennis, and look out for matches with the play icon near the event.

#2 Unibet Table Tennis
Unibet offer a large amount of table tennis-based markets. You’ll be able to access handy statistics for any upcoming matches, as well as in-play points updates. Their live streaming adds to the thrill of following live matches, and you’ve got a useful in-play graphic to refer to, too.

#3 Betfair Table Tennis

Betfair also offer table tennis live betting arena with point-by-point updated scorecards to keep you in the loop.

#4 888sport Table Tennis
888sport is a betting pioneer, and among the best in the business when it comes to offering odds on table tennis. To access 888sport’s betting section, click on the “Table Tennis” option present on 888sport’s main sports slider on the left-hand side of your screen.
888sport offer a live scorecard, with point-by-point live updates, and a good number of table tennis betting markets and variants to punt on.
They’re currently offering £30 worth of free bets + £10 casino bonus if you place a £10 bet when you sign up, which can be redeemed on table tennis matches.

#5 bwin Table Tennis

Their table tennis matches feature a diversity of markets, with everything from match betting to handicap, games and points betting available. They’re also on the list of bookies that provide a live streaming service for selected table tennis matches.
What's best is Bwin are offering a £20 backup bet welcome bonus which you can claim when you sign up.

#6 Ladbrokes Table Tennis
One of the giants in the betting industry, you’d expect Ladbrokes to cater to table tennis fans – and they do.
Compared to others, Ladbrokes offer a considerable amount of table tennis-based betting markets to choose from, and most of them come with a cash out option. There’s no live streaming service for table tennis, but their huge in-play graphic, in-depth stats and head-to-head section come as close to making up for it as you can.
Their welcome bonus is sweet and simple – Bet £5 Get £20 worth of free bets.

#7 Marathonbet Table Tennis
Simply put: if you want great odds, go to Marathonbet. No matter the sport, Marathonbet has established a reputation for delivering some of the best prices on the market. While the odds overround for table tennis on most bookies hover around 108% more often than not, on Marathonbet the value was closer to 107%. How important could a meagre 1% be, we hear you asking? When searching for value, every little counts – it certainly does matter.
However, this bookie does lack compared to the other names on this list when it comes to table tennis betting markets, the in-play scorecard and the overall design on the site. They also don’t offer a welcome bonus at the time of writing. Regardless, they’re always a good bookie to have up your sleeve simply because of their great odds.
#8 BetVictor Table Tennis
BetVictor’s table tennis offering is solid if not spectacular. They’ve got the standard variety of table tennis markets on offer, and these are all available on the BetVictor mobile app, which is close to flawless.
We’d also like to remind you that if you bet £10 you’ll get £40 worth of free bets and 100 free spins as a welcome offer.

Popular Table Tennis Betting markets
To Win
A simple wager on which player will win the match. Matches are typically decided by who wins the best of 3 or the best of 5 games.
Best betting site for match odds betting: Marathonbet

Under/Over
No matter the sport, there always seems to be an under/over betting option. This is no different for table tennis! The most popular types in table tennis are related to over/under total points and over/under total games.
Best betting site for under/over betting: bet365

Handicap Betting
Handicap betting gives you greater incentive to bet on a match that appears to be one-sided. You’ll benefit from better odds in comparison to the match odds when backing the favourite, while betting on the underdog will give you a better chance of winning. In matches decided in 5, a handicap of 1.5 is generally offered by bookmakers.
So for example, if you had to back the favourite Aleksandr Poprocky to beat Aleksandr Vorozheykin with a -1.5 handicap, he would have to win by at least more than 1 game. On the other hand, if you opted for the underdog Vorozheykin, your bet would come through as long as he didn’t lose by more than one game.

Table Tennis Betting Tips & Strategies
- Head-to-Head is key
Since table tennis isn’t as taxing on the body as other sports, players end up with a lot of matches under their belt. What this usually means is that there’s an extensive head-to-head record between two players. This can often shed some light on how the next encounter will play out. Thus, helping with your table tennis betting predictions.
- Style of play
Style of play plays a crucial role in deciding the winner of a table tennis match. For example, there have been numerous examples of right-handed players in top form that end up struggling against left-handed players. The grip is another factor that could shape the way a match goes, especially since there are quite a few variants. It has been said that European players tend to struggle more with penhold grip opponents, while Asian players don’t enjoy facing opponents utilising the traditional shakehold grip. Doing your research on players’ styles of play could therefore be important in helping you plan out your table tennis betting picks.
- Rankings aren’t everything
It might seem obvious, but successful betting isn’t as simple as backing the higher-ranked player. Firstly, you’re unlikely to find value in those situations, and secondly, rankings can sometimes be deceiving. Look further into the last 3-6 months of form for the two players and see if you can spot any trends – could the favourite be declining? Is the underdog showing promise? And so on.
- Sign up, sign up, sign up
Registering with multiple bookmakers will give you the opportunity to find the best odds on the market, thus increasing your chances of finding and comparing the best table tennis betting odds. Not to mention, this means you get to make use of more juicy welcome bonuses.
Table Tennis Basics: The 5 Rules of Table Tennis
- Hands off the table
If a player's hand touches the table during a point, a point will subsequently be deducted.
- When serving, the ball must be thrown 15mm into the air
When players throw the ball in the air to serve, the ball must rise to a minimum of 15m in height before being hit. Players also can't throw the ball in a way that will add spin.
- If the ball hits the net on service, go again
If the ball hits the net while serving, the point will be replayed. There's no hard rule on how many times a point can be replayed before a point is lost, but the most common is three attempts.
- Hold the ball in a flat palm above the table
Before a point can start, the server must hold the ball flat in their hands so that the umpire and opponent can see it.
- Serve behind the end line
Players can only serve from behind the end line. Serving in front of it goes against the rules.
Table Tennis England
Although England table tennis remains popular, it is not the country the sport is most associated with. Most people would think of the great competitors from China or Japan, for instance, before the finest England table tennis players. Many people wouldn’t be able to tell you a single person from the England table tennis rankings but may be aware of the likes of Ma Long or Guo Yue.
This is especially surprising when you realise that table tennis England actually saw its invention in the early 20th century and was called ping-pong. This is still a commonly-used colloquialism for England table tennis, although you won’t see many table tennis England competitions use the name officially. It was unofficially invented during Victorian England in the 19th century, and was patented, still as ping-pong, in 1901. The name was changed in 1921 or 1922 and this also coincided with the expansion of the sport across the continents, even though the first of the table tennis England competitions was held in London in 1926.
It may feel to some then that England table tennis has been left on the backburner as our national interest has focused more on the likes of football betting or types of horse racing. But the passion for what we once called ping-pong still burns bright. If you check out Table Tennis England, the national governing body for the sport, you’ll find not just table tennis England news and table tennis England rankings, but also facilities for new England table tennis players, with places to play and events throughout the country.
Just because the list of the greatest ever table tennis player holds few English names, that doesn’t mean that England does not remain a great nation for the sport it invented. And with more and more competitions emerging and an increasing global interest in the sport following incredible exposure from the likes of the Olympics, we may yet see England table tennis rankings include more globally- recognised names.
Table Tennis Tournaments To Look Out For
World Table Tennis Championships
Considered by many to be the absolute pinnacle of professional table tennis tournaments, it is also the most recognisable and widely- covered event alongside the Olympics.
It has been around since 1926, which if you check out our brief history of England table tennis section, you will see actually coincides with the game’s international expansion. In other words, this tournament is the original place to see international table tennis superstars battle it out to find out who is the very best. And that includes both team and singles events, with the latter historically taking place on odd-numbered years and team events taking place on even-numbered ones.
In 2021, this most prestigious of table tennis competition makes its way to Houston at the George R. Brown Convention Centre between the 23rd-29th November for the 56th edition of this incredible event. It’s especially historic as it is the first time ever the competition will be held in the United States, which is an amazing milestone when you consider the nation’s love and passion for the game.
You’ll find players from all around the globe here. Table tennis England players will join the finest the United States has to offer, alongside the very best from China, India, Egypt, Sweden and more. This is truly the sports equivalent of the football World Cup 2022, meaning that if you want the ideal event to get into this sport, then you have come to the right place.
Its scale also makes it an ideal place for first-time table tennis betting. For starters, there’s a high standard of play throughout, meaning that you don’t need to know a great deal about the game. Although, of course, research is recommended to have an idea for the quality you can expect as a baseline. Furthermore, there is likely to be a large amount of coverage. Put it this way, if you can bet on table tennis at all, you most certainly will be able to bet on table tennis for the World Championship at your preferred bookmaker.
Perhaps best of all, though, is that for sheer entertainment value, we’re not sure the World Championships can be bettered. It’s an ideal test to see whether table tennis sports markets are perfect for you and how you like to bet. Plus, because we are talking about the absolute best in the world here, this competition is also an invaluable education in what the best players in the world look like. A look here could provide you with crucial insight into table tennis England rankings, for instance, or allow you to make the most strategic sense out of Table Tennis England news.
Table Tennis at the Olympics
Competing at the Olympics is as big as it gets for table tennis players, especially since these only come around once every 4 years. Table tennis joined the Olympics in 1988, when it was held in Seoul, South Korea. Since then, some of the most fantastic table tennis matches have been witnessed by this competition. China has dominated the lion’s share of medals on the Olympic stage, winning 28 of a possible 32 gold medals in total.
Table Tennis World Cup
The first Table Tennis World Cup was held as an experimental event in 1980, but it was so successful that it’s taken place every year since. A total of 20 players qualify for this event through the Continental Cup.
ITTF World Tour
The ITTF World Tour is a Grand Prix-type series which allows players to compete for points in competitions all around the world. The least important competition rewarding the winner with 2,800 points, and the most important one awarding 33,300. Players who accumulate the highest number of points by the end of the year qualify for the luxurious ITTF World Tour Grand Finals, which awards the winner a jaw-dropping US$1,000,000 in prize money.
European Championships
The European Championships first took place in 1958, taking place biennially. Since 2016, even years have been reserved for individual events while uneven years are reserved for team events. Hungary, Sweden and Germany have traditionally been the most successful nations at the European Championships.

While it might not have the following that the likes of football, basketball or tennis do, make no mistake: table tennis is widely adored. There are layers upon layers to this sport and successful table tennis betting will require research, but the value is most certainly there.
