The first ever Saturday night evening game sees Spurs travel to the Molineux to face Wolves, as the North Londoners look to push into the top 4.

Wolves had started the season well, losing just one of their opening eight league games and sitting close to a Europa League spot before losing two in a row to Watford and Brighton. They Filed to score in either of those games and indeed are struggling for a consistent goal scorer.

As for Spurs, they sit in fifth, winning seven of their opening ten league games and struggling a little to replicate their performance of recent seasons. They look set to crash out of their Champions League group and Pochettino’s men are not as ruthless going forward, with Harry Kane finding goals a little harder to come by in the league.

The away side have a tough test here this weekend, as Wolves have only lost once at home so far this season and have held the likes of City and Everton, as well as drawing away at United. The home side might be lacking in the goal department, but they are proving a difficult team to breach, conceding just nine goals so far.

Spurs have won four of their last five games in the league and have won five of their six away games so far this season in the league. They have won to nil in three of those five victories and in general, do not concede too many goals.

Spurs are at an attractive 5/4 to win the game here, with Wolves out at 12/5 and 5/2 for the draw. Spurs away form suggests those prices are very favourable, but Wolves will not be an easy side to beat. Goals would not be the way to go here and it could be a very evenly contested affair with Spurs still not quite at their best.

Team News

Wolves have no injury concerns ahead of this game but Diogo Jota could replace Adama Traore in the starting eleven.

Jan Vertonghen is out for the away side, whilst both Eric Dier and Danny Rose are doubts through injury.

Potential Wolves Starting XI: Patricio; Bennett, Coacy, Boly; Doherty, Moutinho, Neves, Jonny; Costa, Jota; Jimenez

Potential Spurs Starting XI: Lloris; Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Davies; Winks, Dembele; Lamela, Eriksen, Moura; Kane

Head To Head

  • These two sides have met each other eight times in the Premier League era, with Spurs winning four of those, two draws and two Wolves victories.

Stats & Facts

  • There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Wolves’ last nine league games.
  • There have been under 2.5 goals scored in Spurs’ last four league games.
  • Spurs have won five of their last six away games.

Betting Odds

  • Wolves – 12/5
  • Draw – 51/20
  • Spurs – 5/4

The Verdict

In the last few seasons, if you were offered odds-against for Spurs against a newly-promoted side, you would bite their hand off for it. They are not firing on all cylinders at the moment and seem to be a little toothless going forward at times and this Wolves side have proven difficult to beat.

I think under 2.5 goals appeals at EVENS here as it looks set to be a tight affair but given Wolves have lost two on the spin and Spurs still have the quality to un-pick this dogged Wolves side, Spurs at these prices seem too good to turn down.
