FA Cup Best Bets | Tuesday 5th February
Football specialist Tom Love (@TomLove_18) has analysed Tuesday evening’s FA Cup 4th Round Replays action and delivered us his best bets.
QPR v Portsmouth
League One outfit may relish being the underdog here as they head to Loftus Road to take on Championship side QPR. The R’s have lost three on the bounce in the league and are without Tomer Hemed, Angel Rangel and Geoff Cameron for this replay.
Pompey can be further encouraged by their excellent road record this term. Kenny Jackett’s men have returned a W9, D3, L3 away from home in the league this season. They’ve added attacking reinforcements in the shape of James Vaughan, Viv Solomon-Otabor and Omar Bogle which will hopefully give the South coast side a timely boost.
QPR still have threats in the form of Eberechi Eze and Nahki Wells and given they have home advantage I’d expect them to bag.
The bet that appeals here is both teams to score which we can get at 20/23 with Betfair. It’s landed in 5 of QPR’s last 6 fixtures, it’s also landed in 4 of Portsmouth’s last 5 including this first leg.
Newport v Middlesbrough
Newport snatched a replay in the last minute as Matt Dolan poked home a lose ball in the box last Saturday. It’s a wonderful story at Rodney Parade and Mike Flynn has once again done a sterling job on a limited budget.
This game is live on TV too and will be a welcome boost to the coffers for a side with little financial might. They’ll be right up for it and I’ve got a feeling it could get feisty under the lights.
Middlesbrough aren’t the most disciplined side with Adam Clayton having amassed 9 yellows this season not to mention the 7 for Daniel Ayala. With a big tie against Manchester City awaiting the winner it should be competitive.
We can back 20+ booking points for each team at 9/4 with SkyBet and that appeals. Booking points works as 10 for a yellow and 25 for a red.
