Maybe, but this is one of the year's highlights for racing fanatics, and to say we’re excited is an understatement. Saddle up, it’s show time!

Royal Ascot Ante-Post Betting Odds
The ante-post markets are already popping. In fact, some have been live for several months already and, as we always state for Royal Ascot betting odds, the sooner you can get in, the more value there is to be had. We’ve featured all the major races for the week with a look at the latest for the betting. As the races draw nearer, we’ll keep these updated with any changes.
INFO
If you’re betting on the ante-post, get non-runner, no-bet insurance. If any horses aren’t featured in the race, this will protect you and refund any bets. bet365 is one of the best bookies for this, but we’ve a complete guide to non-runner no bet, if you want to know more.
Coventry Stakes Betting Odds (2yo, 6f)
The Coventry Stakes can be a bit of a minefield in the betting, but it’s the first of the big races for the week, so it’s incredibly popular with the punters. Hamad Al Jehani’s Postmodern leads the betting at 4/1 after impressing with a sharp turn of foot on debut at Yarmouth.
Military Code and Charles Darwin have both been well fancied and are two colts who won their spring maidens in style. Ascot betting odds of 5/1 and 6/1 respectively showcase their class, but don’t be surprised if we get a long shot winner from this race for two-year-olds, highlighted in 2020 when Nando Parrado romped it at 150/1.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Postmodern | 4/1 | Ladbrokes |
Military Code | 5/1 | William Hill |
Charles Darwin | 6/1 | William Hill |
Treanmor | 7/1 | BetMGM |
Warsaw | 8/1 | William Hill |
King Charles III Stakes Betting Odds (5f, Group 1)
The newly named King Charles III Stakes (formerly King’s Stand Stakes) is a five-furlong dash and will feature the fastest sprinters of the week. The betting suggests we’re wide open here, but the Aussies always run well (Nature Strip in 2022, anyone?), which is why we like the look of Asfoora, as she looks to defend her title from 2024.
For the Brits, Storm Boy is the one to watch. He burst onto the scene with a string of wins over 5f and should be suited to the faster ground at Ascot.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Believing | 9/2 | William Hill |
Asfoora | 6/1 | Unibet |
Regional | 8/1 | William Hill |
Night Rider | 8/1 | William Hill |
Mgheera | 12/1 | William Hill |
Queen Mary Stakes Betting Odds (2yo Fillies, 5f)
We’re back to the 5f sprinters for the Queen Mary Stakes, but this time, it’s the fillies, and just to make it a little more chaotic, it’s only for two-year-olds. Karl Burke’s Zelania has drawn a lot of attention over the last few weeks, as she bolted home at Nottingham, winning by two and a half lengths on debut.
Lennilu and Lady Iman will have a good chance to go well, both winning their maiden races. But keep an eye out for American trainer Wesley Ward. He always seems to do well in the race (think Lady Aurelia in 2016) and may spring a surprise inclusion as we approach start time. With 20+ runners, this is a wide-open race and tends to favour boldly campaigned fillies with some early-season success.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Zelania | 7/4 | bet365 |
Lennilu | 7/1 | bet365 |
Lady Iman | 8/1 | bet365 |
Society Kiss | 10/1 | bet365 |
Staya | 12/1 | bet365 |
Secret Oath | 14/1 | Unibet |
Windsor Castle Stakes Betting Odds (2yo, 5f Listed)
The Windsor Castle Stakes is a prime example of how difficult it can be to predict Royal Ascot tips, given that both Charles Darwin and Wise Approach are listed across multiple ante-post markets.
Another wide-open list for juveniles and often one targeted for colts who aren’t quite ready to make the step for the Coventry Stakes earlier in the week. You can close your eyes and stick a pin on the racecard for this one, as it’s about as tough to call as they come. Fast starters keen to grab the rail from the off tend to do well, so keep an eye on the draw for those low numbers.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Old Is Gold | 5/1 | Unibet |
Havana Hurricane | 5/1 | Unibet |
First Approach | 8/1 | Unibet |
Naval Light | 10/1 | Unibet |
Evening Blues | 10/1 | Unibet |
Wise Approach | 12/1 | Unibet |
Norfolk Stakes Betting Odds (2yo, 5f Group 2)
The Norfolk Stakes may be a Group 2 on paper, but it’s a crucial race this week as the winner gets a golden ticket to the Breeders’ Cup. Look for explosive two-year-olds that can fire out of the blocks and promptly get up to speed.
A couple of usual suspects top the Royal Ascot betting odds, but we like the look of both Charles Darwin and Naval Light for this one. Both have shown tremendous speed at provincial tracks and should take the step-up in class without too many issues.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Charles Darwin | 2/1 | William Hill |
Outfielder | 3/1 | BetVictor |
Naval Light | 7/1 | Ladbrokes |
Military Code | 10/1 | bet365 |
Old Is Gold | 10/1 | BetVictor |
Maximised | 10/1 | Unibet |
Ascot Gold Cup Betting Odds (4yo+, 2 1/2m Group 1)
The Ascot Gold Cup is the centrepiece of the week. At 2 ½ miles, it’s a true test of grit and stamina on what is quite a demanding track. The latest Ascot Gold Cup odds show that Illinois is a strong 7/4 favourite and is the one to beat in a lineup without an awful lot of direct competition.
But horse racing can be a funny old game, and Ascot Gold Cup betting doesn’t always go to plan, which is why we like the look of chief pretender, Candelari. He’s had nine wins from 12 starts and looks a typical F H Grafford improver. Whether this week comes a little too soon for this talented four-year-old remains to be seen, but he’s for sure one to watch.
Grit plays as significant a role as class in our Ascot Gold Cup tips, and even though Illinois is extremely short, he’s still a little inconsistent for our liking. Keep an eye out for softer ground, which he won’t enjoy as much, and target the grinders in the field, such as Jan Brueghel, priced a little more attractively at 8/1.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Illinois | 7/4 | William Hill |
Candelari | 7/2 | bet365 |
Trawlerman | 4/1 | bet365 |
Sweet William | 6/1 | Ladbrokes |
Jan Brueghel | 8/1 | Willaim Hill |
Sevenna’s Knight | 16/1 | Ladbrokes |
Albany Stakes Betting Odds (2yo Fillies, 6f Group 3)
We love the Albany Stakes. It’s a chance to see some of the future stars of flat racing take on the slightly longer six-furlong track. Namely, Porta Fortuna in 2023, who went on to win the Group 1 Falmouth and Matron stakes in 2024.
This year, Signora has lived up to her name and leads the Ascot stakes odds for the race at 6/1, following a cracking run at Naas with Wayne Lordan on board. Fitzella is hot on her heels at 6/1 but could be favoured for the slightly shorter run in the Queen Mary.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Signora | 6/1 | bet365 |
Fitzella | 6/1 | bet365 |
Venetian Sun | 6/1 | Ladbrokes |
Gold Digger | 7/1 | bet365 |
Green Sense | 8/1 | bet365 |
Lady Iman | 10/1 | bet365 |
Commonwealth Cup Betting Odds (3yo, 6f Group 1)
The Commonwealth Cup is one of the newest Group 1s on the Ascot roster. It’s a little longer at 6f, and is targeted at three-year-olds who have either opted to bypass the Guineas or didn’t stay the mile.
It’s one of the more competitive Group 1 races for the week, with Shadow Of Light only narrowly leading the betting after four wins from five races, including two on the bounce at Newmarket toward the latter part of the 2024 season. Whistlejacket features as a notable challenger and is a good price at 10/1.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Shadow Of Light | 7/4 | bet365 |
Babouche | 9/2 | William Hill |
Jonquil | 9/1 | bet365 |
Whistlekjacket | 10/1 | William Hill |
Ides Of March | 12/1 | Betfred |
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes Betting Odds (6f, Group 1)
The QEII is the finale of the Group 1s and the last of our Royal Ascot betting tips. The jubilee draws an international field, and we’re expecting more of the same in 2025. Lazzat leads the betting at 7/2, and if he doesn’t feature in the King Charles III Stakes earlier in the week, he will take a lot of beating.
Kind Of Blue is another that we like and ran a cracking race in the Commonwealth Cup, developing further since then. He enjoys Ascot and appears to be improving with each race. Odds of 10/1 seem decent value on the ante-post, and we expect these to shorten as the race draws closer.
Horse | Odds | Bookmaker (Best Price) |
---|---|---|
Lazzat | 7/2 | Betfred |
Inisherin | 5/1 | bet365 |
Storm Boy | 6/1 | William Hill |
Satono Reve | 7/1 | William Hill |
Topgear | 8/1 | bet365 |
Kind Of Blue | 10/1 | bet365 |
Royal Ascot Tips Today
We’ve got five days of some of the best flat racing the UK has to offer, and as part of our Royal Ascot betting guide, we’ve previewed the highlight for each day. Each day is packed with talent, so it hasn’t been easy to bring together Royal Ascot tips today, which is why we will keep coming back as runners and riders are confirmed nearer the time.
Stick a bookmark on this page so you don’t miss out, but for now, here’s who's taking our fancy from the early ante-post markets.
Royal Ascot Day 1 Tips [Tuesday]
Day one starts with three Group 1 races in one of the strongest lineups of the week. The best milers in Europe will battle in the Queen Anne Stakes, where superstar filly Rosallion will take on Dancing Gemini and Lead Artist in what is set to be a cracker of a curtain raiser.
The King Charles III Stakes is next on the list. The field for this will likely change as trainers look to slot horses here or possibly later in the week. We could see a mouthwatering battle between Storm Boy and Asfoora, with the former being one of our standout betting tips for Royal Ascot. 14/1 on the ante-post is a massive price, so get on that ASAP.
Later in the day is the St James’s Palace Stakes, which will likely attract a lot of the field from the 2000 Guineas. Field of Troy and Ruling Court could go down as Classic stars, in one of the closest races of the festival.
Day one is stacked, but don’t get too carried away with the betting. It’s a long week, and this is one of the most competitive days. Rosalion is our NAP for the day and is a class act to go and beat the boys. Historically, the favourites don’t always fare well, so look at mid-long priced each-way bets and expect an upset or two.
Royal Ascot Day 2 Tips [Wednesday]
Day two, and all eyes are on the Prince of Wales’s Stakes. This is a middle-distance flat race (1m 2f) and attracts the best international field of the week, including Derby and Breeders’ Cup winners. Los Angeles is the early favourite priced as short as 2/1 in places, but he will have stiff competition from the likes of Anmaat and Map Of The Stars in a cracker of a race.
We’ve already touched on the Queen Mary Stakes above, running earlier in the day, but a notable inclusion on day two is the Queen’s Vase. This is a Group 2 and a trial run for future Cup horses, but it’s featured the likes of Stradivarious and Kew Gardens in the past, so it’s packed with talent.
If we could give only one Royal Ascot tip for Wednesday, it would be to follow Aiden O’Brien’s yard. This is where, historically, they get into their straps, and we like both Los Angeles and The Liffey (Royal Hunt Cup) to get the job done.
Royal Ascot Day 3 Tips [Thursday]
Thursday is Ladies’ Day and, of course, features the highlight of the week in the Gold Cup. Illinois’s comeback is the talk of the town, and it's exciting to see him back racing, but question marks will be around his fitness levels. His Royal Ascot Gold Cup odds of 7/4 look short, but we think there’s just enough there to get excited.
If you’re looking for a bit more value, shoot for Jan Brueghel. The four-year-old has been in great form and has already beaten Illinois at Doncaster back in September. One to watch this week, for sure.
Another race that’s caught our eye for the day is the Hampton Court Stakes. It’s a Group 3 run over 1 1/4m and often has those that have skipped the Derby, and usually spits out a future Classic winner or two. We will preview this nearer the time, but it’s proved lucrative for the TPP team in previous years.
Royal Ascot Day 4 Tips [Friday]
Royal Ascot Day 4 tips are all centred around the Commonwealth Cup, which we’ve covered above, but there are three Group 1 races dominated by the three-year-old category. The standout is the Coronation Stakes, which takes a bunch of the top fillies from the 1000 Guineas in England, Ireland and France. A dream lineup is Zarigana vs Falakeyah, who go head-to-head after multiple wins between them.
Three other notables for the day are the Albany Stakes, King Edward VII Stakes and the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap. For the latter, we like Godolphin-owned Castle Way, who looks set to make the step up in class this week and is one of the most promising sprinters to emerge from their stables in several years.
Royal Ascot Day 5 Tips [Saturday]
The final day of the festival goes out with a bang and is headlined by the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes. Historically, the Chesham Stakes has been a tough race to call, but there are trends that you can use from our Royal Ascot tips for Saturday. Look for regally bred horses from Ballydoyle as they can be linked to a Galileo/Frankel colt. They need good stamina to make it the 7f track, so any previous form over this distance for a two-year-old is huge.
In terms of Royal Ascot tips, we like the look of Bay Bridge in the Hardwicke Stakes. He will enjoy the quicker ground at Ascot and has won well against his closest counterpart in the race, Pyledriver.
How We Select Our Royal Ascot Betting Tips
At ThePutnersPage, we like to go above and beyond when it comes to horse racing tips for Royal Ascot. As a data-driven approach, we also need to predict when horses are trending and showing promise, especially when betting early on ante-post markets. Below, we’ve outlined some key points of interest that you can use to inform your own bets, providing insight into how we operate at TPP Towers.
Ascot is a track that lends itself to experience. Age plays a big role in this, and the more races a horse has had (ideally at Ascot), the more confident we can be with our picks. For example, four-year-olds have an excellent record in the Prince of Wales Stakes, whereas older horses tend to dominate the Gold Cup.
Not all wins are equal. We look at the field a horse has competed in and then the result to see how they’ll step up at Ascot. Let’s face it, the best of the best is on show, so if a horse has only competed at lower classes, then Ascot isn’t usually a good place to see if they can make the step. Use platforms like Timeform and the Racing Post for results and the quality of the fields a horse has been racing in.
Races will range from five furlongs to 2 ½ miles, which is a huge gap on the flat. We want to see the horse proven over the distance they’re running. If they’re stepping up in distance, check the manner of their previous races to see how they might go. For example, if you’re betting on the Gold Cup, you need to know if they can stay past the two-mile marker, whereas for a five-furlong sprint, staying generally isn’t an issue, with raw speed being the significant factor.
When looking at form, don’t just take the finishing position at face value. You need to assess the calibre of the race and whether they are improving. For example, a horse that finishes third in a Group 1 Classic carries more weight than a horse that’s won a Group 3 race.
For Group races, weights will be added to create a more even field. This is done by a handicapper who uses past form to determine which horse has the best chance of winning and then assigns the weight accordingly. Try to avoid horses that are carrying more weight than usual for the first time, as they can be a little unknown.
It may be July and technically summertime in the UK, but let’s face it, there are no guarantees when it comes to the weather. Dry spells will create a quicker track, and rain will make it heavier/slower. There will be horses in the field that favour one or the other, so take this into account when checking Royal Ascot betting odds.
Royal Ascot Jockey & Trainer Stats
You’ll find that Royal Ascot will be dominated by a handful of the world's best trainers and jockeys. They know how to get it done on the flat and have decades of experience in most cases, so from a betting perspective, it’s smart to follow them.
Jockeys like Ryan Moore and the now-retired Frankie Dettori are two of the most decorated over the last 20 years. For the trainers, Aiden O’Brien and John Gosden have been there, done that and won it all at Ascot.
We don’t particularly like the term “Ascot specialists” because there are so many variables at play, but there are training yards that target Ascot months in advance, so it makes sense that they perform well here.
Royal Ascot Latest Trends
For each of our Royal Ascot tips, we use the latest trends to try and find an edge. With this, we’re trying to find patterns that have formed in previous years or potential trends that are starting to emerge. It’s all in the pursuit of value, so let’s dive in.
-
Favoured ages – Four-year-olds dominate the Queen Anne Stakes, often improving from the previous season. For the King Charles III Stakes, five-year-olds have an excellent record over the shorter 5f tracks. Trends for Ascot Gold Cup betting show that younger, fresher legs are en vogue, highlighted by the wins from Estimate, Order Of St George and Stradivarious.
-
Draw bias – Avoid horses drawn in the middle stalls (10-15). Ascot regulars call this no-man's land as horses can get isolated and a little lost as to which side to move to, especially in the shorter races. In sprints like the Commonwealth Cup and Jubilee, extreme high or low draws have won almost exclusively in recent years.
-
International success – Horses from the UK and Ireland no longer dominate Royal Ascot. There have been 20 international winners in the last decade, with the numbers continuing to rise year on year. International rides often outrun their odds, so target these for a little more value in wide-open races.

Royal Ascot Racecourse Tips
One of the things we love about Royal Ascot is that the racecourse plays a significant role in shaping one of the greatest weeks of racing anywhere in the world. The track is a quick, right-handed gallop with long straights, perfectly set up for the ultimate test on the flat.
Its sweeping turns and undulating ground mean the jockeys must be at the top of their game to get the most out of their ride, which is why the best trainers pay the big bucks for the Ryan Moore’s of the racing world.
Below are some quick-fire betting tips for Royal Ascot racecourse to give you an idea of what to look out for with your bets.

bet365 and BetVictor Secure Top Honors
Jonathan - There are two bookies that I’ll be using this week: bet365 and BetVictor. First up, bet365 will be my go-to, as they generally have the best odds across the board. The massive range of boosted odds and the ability to use a bet builder keep things fresh. BetVictor is the only one who can consistently challenge in terms of odds, especially when it comes to longer-priced outsiders. I also love their Royal Ascot betting HUB, which is a close rival to our very own Royal Ascot betting tips… just not quite as good.
Royal Ascot Betting Sites with Livestreaming
One of the best things about horse racing is the fact that most of the best livestreaming betting sites have coverage. You can watch all five days, with streams of all the races with the likes of bet365, BetVictor, Coral or Betfred. All you need is to have either placed a bet on the race or to have a funded betting account.
Most Popular Royal Ascot Betting Markets
We try to use as many markets as possible for our Royal Ascot tips and not fall into the trap of only betting on the winner. Sure, there are times the win bet is the way to go, but once you broaden your horizons, you’ll see there’s a lot more to this game that can yield some impressive results.
This is the simplest, most common market. All you’re doing is betting on the outright winner for the race. If your horse doesn’t finish first, your bet doesn’t win.
Each-way betting is where you split your wager into two. The first part is the win, and the second part is for the horse to place. The bookie determines odds for the place and will include a set number of positions based on the total runners and then either ¼ or 1/5 of the win odds. For example, £10 each way at ¼ odds paying top five would mean that you have a total stake of £20; £10 on the win and £10 at ¼ of the initial odds. If the horse wins, you pocket both bets. If they finish 2nd to 5th, you lose the win but win the place. If they finish 6th or lower, you lose both bets.
These are combination bets where you choose multiple horses to finish in certain positions in the correct order. A forecast is where you pick two horses to finish first and second. A tricast is where you choose three horses to finish first, second and third. The odds for these can be huge, but they are hard to predict given the large fields and exceptionally high quality on show across Royal Ascot.

It feels like the anticipation for this year's meeting is higher than ever, and we’ve been so pumped to share our early Royal Ascot tips that it’s increased tenfold. It’s not an easy week to bet on, to be honest, as there are so many good horses running that you could make an argument for multiple horses in each race. However, if you use our Royal Ascot betting guide and apply solid fundamentals to your strategy, there’s money to be made. Alternatively, follow on the back of our picks and we can all enjoy the highs (and possibly lows) together.
