Leicester take on West Ham at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening looking to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates. The Foxes have a good recent record against winning 5 out of the last 8 encounters between the two sides.
So far this season matches involving Leicester have guaranteed entertainment. In 9 matches not one of them have ended goalless. The price for a 0-0 on Saturday is 10/1 (BetStars) but I think (hope) we don’t get that on Saturday evening. The form of these two sides would suggest that we won’t get that either. I’ve mentioned Leicester’s entertaining matches this season but we also have West Ham who have been exciting on the road, 4 out of their last 5 matches have involved 3.5 total goals. This is no new trend either as the last 13 PL away games have produced 49 goals (3.77 goals on average) both teams to score in this one is 5/6 (10Bet)
In their last away game West Ham toiled in front of goal as they faced an organised Brighton side and I think they will face a similar task here. Leicester are an organised side who like to play on the counter attack and use the pace of WKD and Red Bull enthusiast, Jamie Vardy, who is 4/1 (Bet365) to score first.
West Ham this season have picked up 25 bookings across 9 games, which works out close to 3 a game. This is the type of game where they could get caught out on the counter and there could be a few ‘team fouls’ which will hopefully lead to a few bookings. I think the Hammers will hit the 3 booking mark and you can back that at 11/8 (SkyBet).
As I have alluded to earlier, Leicester are a well organised side and I think they may just have a bit too much for the Hammers come Saturday night. A Leicester win and both teams to score is 10/3 (Bet365) and I think with both sides being slightly brittle at the back there will be goals at both ends.
Leicester will be without Wes Morgan and Matt James, they also have doubts over Demari Gray.
West Ham will be without Andriy Yarmolenko who picked up an injury in their last match.
Potential Leicester Starting XI: Schmeichel, Amartey, Maguire, Evans, Chilwell, Ndidi, Mendy, Pereira, Vardy, Iheanacho.
Potential West Ham Starting XI: Fabianski, Zabaleta, Balbuena, Diop, Cresswell, Rice, Diangana, Noble, Snodgrass, Anderson, Arnautovic
Head To Head
- Leicester have won 5 out of the last 8 meetings between the two sides.
Key Stats & Facts
- All 9 of Leicester’s PL matches this season have seen over 2 or more goals in total.
- Both teams have score in 9 of the last 12 head to head matches between the two sides in all competitions.
- West Ham have conceded first in 7 out of the last 8 matches between the two teams.
- Neither side has managed to comeback from trailing at half- time this season. The combined record is W0 D0 L6.
- Leicester 15/13
- Draw 5/2
- West Ham 14/5
This is a tricky fixture to bet on as both sides can be as little bit unpredictable however I think siding with the home team here against is probably the best option against a West Ham side that hasn’t looked great on the road.
