EnergyBet Sports Betting Review

Although it was only founded in 2016, EnergyBet has already made a big impact on the sports betting scene. The question is: does it live up to the hype? Read on to find out if EnergyBet survived the scrutiny of the ThePuntersPage’s expert team in this review.

Registration Process 4/5

  • Two-step registration process
  • Swift, easy, and secure

Registration

The EnergyBet registration process is extremely simple; it’s just two steps that only took us a few minutes to complete.

First, you need to click on the ‘REGISTER’ icon, located in the top-right corner of the EnergyBet website. You’ll then be taken to the first stage of the registration process.

All you need to do is select a username, enter your email address, and select a password. Although EnergyBet allows you to select whatever you want, we strong recommend including at least few numbers and alternating between upper- and lower-case letters in order to ensure your account is as secure as possible.

After you complete this first stage of the sign-up process, you’ll be directed to a screen where you’ll need to fill in some more details about yourself.

Registration

Your first name, last name, date of birth, address, gender, mobile number, and preferred currency all need to be added. Hit the ‘Create A New Account’ button, and you’re ready to start playing!

One thing to remember: EnergyBet limits accounts to one account per email address and one per IP address. In order to avoid any nasty surprises down the line, be sure to check with everyone in your household that they are not already using the operator.

Overall, we were satisfied with the EnergyBet registration process. Perhaps the only thing the operator could improve on in the future is having a few more security features so that the responsibility for choosing a strong password is not solely on the player.

Deposits & Withdrawals Options 4/5

  • Varied payment options
  • Fairly low minimum withdrawals
  • Secure payments

EnergyBet has deposit and withdrawal options that should suit the vast majority of players. Whether you prefer to make your payments via debit cards, e-wallets, online banking, or cash vouchers, there is something for you at EnergyBet.

Let’s kick off our rundown of the operator’s payment options by looking at debit cards. UK customers can rest assured that both VISA and Mastercard payments are permitted by EnergyBet.

In terms of e-wallets, the operator has an impressive array of different options. NETELLER and Skrill are two of the most popular payment methods around, and both can be used on EnergyBet. Jeton Wallet is also an option.

Deposits and withdrawals

Turning our attention to online banking transfers, Trustly is the most prominent name supported by EnergyBet, but Payz (formerly ecoPayz) and Rapid Transfer can also be used. This brings us to a final option: paysafecard. This prepaid voucher has a minimum deposit of £10, and a maximum deposit of just £1000. Every payment method is also eligible for free deposits. Neat!

But what about withdrawals? Well, the process is simple. You must withdraw with the same method you deposited with to avoid any issues.

All in all, the payment methods for EnergyBet seem pretty good, but, as always in betting, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so we decided to try things out for ourselves.

First, we made a deposit of £10, selecting VISA as our method of payment. The process can’t have taken more than a minute, as everything was expertly laid out for the user.

Deposits and withdrawals

After the funds appeared in our account, the fun could begin. In the end, we opted for a short-odds in play bet on some Polish football, staking the entirety of our £10.

Deposits and withdrawals

Fortunately, we ended up winning, scooping a cool £1.30 profit, which was easy to find in our settle bets section.

Several bets later, we were at the £20 limit needed for a Trustly withdrawal. After making the withdrawal, the funds were in our account in 72 hours. Not a bad amount of time for a bank transfer!

Deposits and withdrawals

Overall, the payment process at EnergyBet is great, but we recommend opting for an e-wallet to ensure the fastest withdrawal possible.

Welcome Offer 4/5

  • £10 free bet up for grabs
  • Simple terms and conditions
  • Very easy to claim

EnergyBet keeps it simple with their welcome offer. New customers are eligible for £10 in free bets if they deposit and wager £10.

Welcome Offer

On paper, claiming the EnergyBet welcome offer seemed pretty straightforward, but just to make sure, we tested it out ourselves.

The first step is to make a £10 deposit. Don’t worry about entering an EnergyBet promo code or anything like that; simply making the payment will suffice. We then wagered this money on a bet with odds of 3/4 or higher. After this bet was settled (which we won), a £10 credit appeared in our account.

There are, of course, a few strings attached to this free bet token. For one, it has to be used on a combi bet with a total odds of 4/5 or higher. Second, the bonus bet must be wagered within five days. This bonus is also only open to UK players.

All in all, the EnergyBet welcome bonus is one of the stronger sportsbook betting offers around. Its simplicity will be a hit among newer players in particular as it provides a perfect introduction into sports betting.

Sportsbook Promotions 2.5/5

  • No sportsbook promotions when we reviewed
  • Good VIP programme

At the time of writing this review, there were unfortunately no additional sportsbook promotions in operation from EnergyBet. Don’t go running for the hills though, as there were several casino offers available!

These included Game of the Week, where one slot per week was eligible for enhanced prize pots, and Pragmatic Showdown, a weekly competition where £200 was up for grabs.

It’s worth remembering that EnergyBet is still a relatively new operator, so we fully expect them to step up their sportsbook promotions game soon.

VIP/Loyalty Service

EnergyBet also has an invitation-only VIP programme. Only the most loyal players are invited into this inner sanctum, but once you’re called up, you can expect some sensational benefits.

Members of the VIP club will immediately be allocated a dedicated account manager. These highly trained professionals are there to assist you with all aspects of your betting, including guiding you towards the best deals and much more.

VIP/Loyalty Service

VIPs can also expect to be whisked around the world for a series of top sporting events. In the past, EnergyBet has treated its most loyal players to ringside seats at David Haye vs Tony Bellow, and taken others to huge games at Euro 2016. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, the potential to win a Mediterranean holiday surely will!

EnergyBet’s VIP programme is a good one, making up somewhat for their lack of sportsbook promotions.

Pre-Match Offer 5/5

  • Truly staggering selection of markets
  • Easy to change odds format
  • Brilliant odds

EnergyBet may not be as well known as some of its sportsbook competitors, but don’t count it out entirely, as it’s more than capable of keeping pace with the big boys. The operator’s pre-match offering is not only solid – it’s spectacular!

At the time of writing, there were 16 different sports markets available to browse, but this number has been known to be even higher in the past. The best barometer of a sportsbook’s markets is checking out the most popular one: football.

Astonishingly, EnergyBet had just shy of 900 different football markets open on the day of our review, from competitions as diverse as the German Bundesliga to the Bahraini King’s Cup. Included in the vast majority of these games are several sub-markets, including Asian Handicap and First Goalscorer, among many others.

Its odds are competitive as well. When we tested the overround of a popular Europa League market, it had a margin of 104%. Anything under 110% is acceptable, so this is great evidence of EnergyBet keeping their odds well up to industry standard. Occasionally, EnergyBet also offers special Energised Odds, which are special combi-bets with enhanced odds. At the time, there were two of these promotions per day on average.

Of course, EnergyBet markets extend further than just football. Simply put, if you fancy betting on an international sporting event, we would be shocked if you couldn’t do it with EnergyBet!

Esports

Esports is no longer the niche pastime it once was. In order to succeed as a sportsbook in the 2020s, including these markets is absolutely essential.

Fortunately, EnergyBet fully understands this, having several markets for esports players to choose from. King of Glory, CS:GO, and Mobile Legends are all covered by the operator, as well as many other top esports tournaments.

Other Specials

Sometimes, you’re just not in the mood for sports betting. When you feel like this, EnergyBet has plenty of other markets for you to jump into.

WWE and politics markets are both offered, and we enjoyed placing a few bets on these during our review. For instance, when we were testing EnergyBet, the Royal Rumble was coming, so we backed Edge to win the match at a very generous 15/1.

Other Specials

Cash Out & Bet Builder

Cash out and bet builders have changed sports betting forever, ever since bursting onto the scene a few years back, giving players increased flexibility.

Unfortunately, EnergyBet doesn’t have a bet builder feature, but as the platform is well-designed, crafting your ideal wager is pretty straightforward anyway.

As for cash out, the operator has plenty of options. Regardless of whether we were betting on Polish football or the Champions League, EnergyBet’s cash out was constantly being updated. This massively increased our live betting enjoyment.

Live Offer 4/5

  • Great amount of different live markets
  • Follow the action with StatScore
  • No live streaming

With close to 1000 different live markets at peak times, EnergyBet will never leave you short of things to bet on.

Their live betting couldn’t be more varied. Whether you’re interested in wagering on minnows or some of the biggest sporting events in the world, EnergyBet has the capacity for either.

Although the operator doesn’t currently have any live streaming, following the action is still pretty easy thanks to the excellent statistical service provided by StatScore. For football, this service lets you know when each side is attacking, when a corner has been given, and a free kick awarded. Complete with charming graphics, we really enjoyed following our bets during this review.

Security 5/5

  • Licensed by the MGA
  • SSL data encryption for payments
  • Betting limits can be set

Playing at a betting site without watertight security credentials is a recipe for disaster. Here at ThePuntersPage, ensuring our readers are kept safe during their sports betting is an absolute priority.

EnergyBet has the same rigorous approach to consumer safety. Its parent company, Probe Investment Limited, is licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority.

Responsible gambling is another thing that EnergyBet takes very seriously. As soon as we created an account with the operator, we received a message detailing the various steps we could take to avoid any gambling problems, including spending limits and other forms of support.

Security

Meanwhile, payments are also extremely secure. All of them are protected by award-winning SSL data encryption, which is essentially the best software on the market.

Service and Customer Support 4/5

  • Awesome live chat feature
  • Extended FAQ section
  • Lack of telephone support is a shame

Customer service is the cornerstone of any good business. On the EnergyBet website, they certainly claimed to have the very best around, but we wondered whether they’d hold up to ThePuntersPage rigorous bookie testing process.

Our first port of call was their live chat, which is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 12am, while it operates on reduced hours of 1pm until 11pm on the weekend.

During our review, we sent a message concerning a withdrawal at 9:23am and had to wait all of 60 seconds for our query to be completely answered. Not only that: our customer service representative was also extremely courteous, welcoming us to the operator and asking how we found everything so far.

customer support

customer support

Overall, we were extremely impressed. If you would prefer email support, that is also available, although a reply will take considerably longer, so it’s best saved for longer correspondence.

EnergyBet also contains a superb FAQ section, which answered many of our queries before we had to take the issue further.

Perhaps the only thing the operator may consider improving upon moving forward is having a more reliable telephone support line, as this was down at the time.

Design & Usability 4/5

  • Sleek colour scheme
  • Well laid out
  • Only available in two languages

The first thing we noticed when loading up the EnergyBet website was its sleek, minimalist design. Keeping things simple with a black and yellow colour scheme, all the text and icons were clearly legible.

The site was also laid out efficiently. Finding the market we were looking for was simple thanks to the drop-down menus and search function, while checking out our balance and active bets was also easy.

In terms of languages, EnergyBet is also available to view in Polish. Anyone looking for further options will unfortunately be disappointed. However, this should not detract from the overall usability too much, as EnergyBet was truly a pleasure to navigate during our review.

Mobile 4/5

  • Available on iOS and Android
  • Great match tracking feature

Gaming on the go is important in the modern world, as we all lead busy lives. So having the option of checking your latest bets via a great mobile betting app wherever you are has never been more important.

That’s why we were so excited to discover the EnergyBet mobile app. Much like the operator’s website, the app possesses fantastic usability, making surfing between your selection a breeze.

One of the mobile app’s best features is Match Tracker. By enabling this, EnergyBet will send you live updates and statistics from all of your bets. We often used this feature when deciding whether or not to cash out on the mobile app.

Other Products

  • EnergyBet casino promotions
  • Slots, live casino, and table games are all available

EnergyBet is not just a great online sportsbook – it’s also one of the best casinos around. Possessing a fine selection of slots, table games, and a bustling live casino, you can also get your experience off to a strong start by cashing in on one of their great promotions.

Although there was no casino sign-up offer at the time of our review, top offers such as the Energy-verse and Power Play tournaments made up for this somewhat. Again, these promotions are only available for UK users at this time.

ThePuntersPage Final Say 3.7/5

EnergyBet is the new kid on the block, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth your time. With a simple-to-use welcome offer, new players will feel right at home with the operator.

EnergyBet also has great betting markets, with its pre-match and live offering both measuring up well to even the biggest names on the market such as bet365 and William Hill operator.

Overall, while it is by no means perfect, we’d definitely recommend giving EnergyBet a try.
